Did KDS Work In 2006?
Wow i just found out about this KDS thing...i hadn't checked the message boards in a long time and just got back from vacation. I don't remember getting any email about this either...would have been nice to know because the pick i ended up with would have been my last choice!

I didn't think i had to re-read the rules every year. I guess i figured if there was any major changes like this that they would have been highlighted somewhere. Maybe an email too that stated "Your draft preferences are not set, please set them by...".

I ranked it out as #3 with my first pick, then 2, then 1....then I actually dropped down to 10-14, leaving the middle spots as my least desired this season. Just my own preferences.
I ended up at 13, which was probably about my 6-7th choice--in other words right in the middle. I also am of the belief that the draft spot has little bearing on the final outcome.
It usually comes down to if it's raining in New England in week 8...or something just as goofy--it's a silly hobby/addiction, but we love it.
Draft 15%; Waivers 25%; Injuries 25% Dumb Luck 35%....or thereabouts.

Regardless, you gotta know the rules. Ignorance isn't an option IMO.

IT worked for me, i wanted picks 1, 2 3 , but afterthat 9,10, 11, then 8,7,6,5,4, and finally 12,13 , and 14 be the worst pick. I the reson i like 9, 10, and 11 over 4 thru 8 is in some drafts the guy who goes 5 ,can go 11 the next night. SO with a little luck i can get a guy i want at the 9, 10 , 11, pick that i would have taken 5 thru 8.ANYWAYS I got pick number 1, my 1st pick.IN the ultimate i got 11 , and hoping one of my guys will slide to me, then can get that stud reciever on the way back.

I echo the sentiments of others in that KDS is a huge improvement over the random method of the past. I am not against the BBDS idea but understand that until the event is sold out and with a waiting list the BBDS concept might deter some people who waffle over investing this much in a high stakes event that requires them do something they never did before or even heard of in their local fun leagues with pals.
We all have enough fantasy football experience to know that where on the draft board you start has limited importance in the grand scheme of things. We have all won leagues from the top and we have all won league from the bottom and everywhere in between. What happens is that people look back at the results and then decide who had advantages afterwards.
I did not get one of my prefered choices for my draft (I drew position 7) but I will now prepare for the big day and believe I am good enough to win no matter where I ended up...
game on.
