It was a great time competing against and talking to the many smart players and good people that are in and help put on this event. That is what makes this a one of a kind event.

Gek, KOQ, Waz and the rest of the east coast crew, hope to see all of you in Vegas next again next year. NY can't possibly be this much fun, can it?

Greg, really liked the doubleheader on Saturday. Sign me up for the next ten years.

My point is more about the expense of having it in midtown Manhatten. I just get the sense these are hard core fantasy football guys and are here for fantasy football and not all the peripheral (overpriced) stuff that comes with the city.

I just see it as a cost cutting move that might bring more players, more money (saved) for the NFFC and maybe more money into the prize fund. Just throwing out ideas...

I will draft in NYC or in a vacant barn on a farm in Vermont...

I am not sure they let you into Benny Bensons Steakhouse with an Eli Manning jersey on...lol

Just throwing out an idea that might lead to more guys joining the fray. I am going to be there no matter where we draft. But would people be adverse to drafting in a convention hall around the Meadowlands? I would have to expect this would save $$ for the NFFC and obviously the participants. Maybe more $ into the prize fund? :D RENMAM , got to respectivly disagree with you. half the fun is to hang out with thBOYZ after the draft. its fun to chill , have a few beers and talk football. nyc offers a great night out with people you see one time a year. everyone is different but the draft is a weekend event to me.

Blackhand,

That is what I am looking for... opinions.. Maybe I am wrong in thinking most guys are in this for football most and party a distant second. I guess my thinking is guys can still go hang with other guys and have some beers pretty much anywhere. It is just a question of whether they want to spend $2 on beers or $9...lol

I could be off base and maybe many guys are lured to NYC for this event because of the location. My gut tells me guys would come to this draft in similar numbers no matter where it is and maybe slightly higher numbers if it were just outside of NYC but I could be wrong.

Just throwing out ideas...

Thanks for the feedback.

I think the 3 hours between drafts wasn't too bad. The facilatators in Chicago were great as was meeting all the other owners.

The location and the rest of the draft was definitely well below my expectations. TCH's description of the room as a barn was very accurate or maybe an abandoned warehouse is a better description. Almost all of the food was gone by the time our draft got to the break. It definitely was just a draft with the exception of the owners.

Last year's location was much better.

For the first 2 years coming from Canada I went to NY and Chicago and it really did add to the appeal. At the same time I'm proof that it really is all about the football.
I stayed home and did both drafts because I just couldn't spend more than $2600 on a fantasy football weekend.
The expense to travel and even spend 1 night for me adds up to another shot at the prize :D so I am glad for that option.
Hopefully next year I'll be in vegas doing both ;)

The best idea I ever heard was doing it at an NFL stadium :D :D

I also strongly suggest Toronto as a future city, It's very easy to fly into, It's much closer to many areas in the states than Chicago or NY. We have the same or better laws on escorts and strip clubs and Casino Niagara and the falls around the corner. (If your into that)
There is plenty for families to do aswell Canada's Wonderland, Marineland, Niagara Falls etc

I think with the right advertising it would bring in tons of Canadians we really are into the NFL way more than the CFL just look at Ontario's legal NFL betting numbers and the underground numbers are even higher, nobody in Ontario gives a rats ass about the CFL It's for the Western provinces, I don't know if that's why we have no team cause the argo's can't sell tickets but this would also be a great place for a team I guarantee it! :D

in my case i was in the dc draft fri at 1:00pm. got over at 4:00pm . instead of driving back and forth i stayed at a decent place 40 blocks uptown for $150. after nbc draft hung out in couple places with a few of the guys talked football with a few beers. why drive back and forth for myself. if it was the meadowlands everyone would have to get a place anyway and drive back over there. nyc is great.

Had a great time in Vegas! I drafted the last three years in Chicago which was fun with great guys, but this was an unbelievable blow-out. The Fi$her party was beyond description, and I'm gonna keep it that way!

I talked to Greg about adding one or more Supers in between the two Mains on Saturday. We could easily fill two Supers in this dead space.

Paul - It was a pleasure meeting you. Next year, we'll have to get that "couch session".

While Vegas was an EXTREMELY good time, I feel like someone has beat me with a sack of nickels over and over again.

Getting approximately 13-15 hours of sleep from Thursday-Sunday night has taken it's toll on me! "Trying" to sleep on the floor in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport just wasn't cutting it.

Great meeting you KJ, and best of luck this year! :D
