Tons of surprises in this draft.

- Alexander over Tomlinson at #1
- Dillon, Barber, and Barlow (as stated above)
- Derrick Mason over Hines Ward, Burleson, Roy Williams, Clayton, and Bennett????

Was this a standard NFFC draft (not DC, right)? Billy
Hint: Just because the publications all pick the same guy #1 doesn't mean he's the best choice.
They missed it last year too. ;)
I commend you for "going your own way" and hope I get the 2nd pick in Chicago, and you get #1! :D

Yes, they were wrong last year, but only because Holmes got hurt. When he was healthy, he was DOMINATING the NFL.
That's very true. Holmes was a correct projection casualty last year.

I think it's interesting that Holmes was able to be handcuffed with Johnson - an absolute must IMO.
The reality is - there are going to be some drafts where "not so smart" owners will prevent that by taking LJ somewhere between 3-5 round before it gets back to the Holmes owner. A dumb move that will hurt 2 teams.

I haven't heard any analysis on yesterdays $250 draft....

Let me speak briefly about the $250 draft. I had position number 1; great spot (or so I thought). Let me tell you this, do not hope or wish for position number one in a 14 team league.... By the time it got back to me, I was "reaching" for a warm body at RB and took Forster. Had to waste 2 more picks backing him up with Shelton and Davis later in the draft.

Sitting at the 1 spot, with LT, I had hoped for a decent RB to fall back to me. I likely took the wrong player. Not liking what I had, I was prepared to take 2 WR as Harrison, Holt and Chad Johnson were still there with 2 picks to go before me.... Sadly, Harrison and Holt went to teams 3 and 2. I took Chad with wrap-around along with Forster.

Yuck:

QB: Bulger and Brooks
RB: LT/Chappman; Forster/Shelton/Davis; Suggs
WR: Chad Johnson; Rod Smith; Burress; M. Robinson; M. Williams; Booker
TE: Franks
K: Wilkins and someone
D/ST: Tampa

Ouch again....

By the way, the draft went off very smoothly. However, it did appear one participant had computer problems and might have had a couple of "auto select" picks early in the draft. Other than that, fast and furious.

Ouch again.... I was worried about the same exact thing at pick #3 in the $100 league last night.

The #6-14 owners that take two RB's first can really screw teams #1-5 this year. If too many of the #6-14 take QB/WR's round 2, then #1-5's will make out well.

USF - Exactly - Who did you get with pick #3 with your first 3 picks?

By the way, I have #3 tomorrow and #4 in the Ultimate. I was thrilled with all 3 slots until I saw the results last night. I may have to get "creative" for the rest. Here's hoping I can get a spot higher than 7 in the regular draft.

Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?
