Take that away from the commish and chaos would rule everyday. Great point, UFS. Here's a story from the WCOFF to illustrate that point:
The main event for the WCOFF was one week ago, on September 8th. My league's rosters were not loaded until the afternoon of September 10th. I checked my roster, and everything seemed fine.
Last night, when the free agent evaluator ran, I noticed that someone picked up Michael Pittman. I was pretty sure that someone had drafted Pittman, so I looked at my notes and found that Team 5 had indeed taken him in the 17th round. I went back to the website and checked Team 5's roster: he had Antonio Pittman -- pretty clear what happened here.
This morning, I notified WCOFF management about the problem. Their response was as follows:
=====================================
"We are now are of the issue. While the error is unfortunate, the rules clearly state that it is the resposiblity of the owner to verify his roster (I have attached the appropriate excerpt from the rules below):
As a result, the waiver wire activity will stand as processed.
h. confirming roster: Each team will be required to confirm their team roster before leaving the Draft. Additionally, there are occasional errors in importing player names into the league management web site. Principal participants are responsible to note any error and report the errors to GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC by September 11, 2007
=================================
So WCOFF is doing the right thing here -- they are going by the rules that they put in place to cover themselves from exactly this situation. But is it really the RIGHT thing? By having a specific rule in place covering this specific nuance, the common sense approach cannot be used.
Be careful what you wish for: you just might get it.

www.chumchumclub/exclusiveVIPaccess.com
This link doesn't work. I want in dammit
Sorry UFS...Each link only has an open door of about 11 minutes. After that, new passwords are passed out via double secret code. There are actually thousands of new codes to get into the chumchum club out there, but you need to know the secret code to know how to follow the pattern, so you can get into the actual chum chum realm. I'll try it again, but it's hard to keep up with...

But having that rule under "Trading" seems odd to me.
The rule re: trading should end at there is no trading allowed.
It could have it's own title.

I play in a locla league for alot less money where we cover our butss, so I guess for 100K I expect "nuances" to be covered is all. Time to go back to my couch to watch football....

Isn't a nuance something you do with a psychic and the table floats up in the air when you try and contact kindred spirits?

The legal system does not provide customer service. My guess is Greg will keep the rules detailed enough to establish the boundaries, but will not bog down the wording to alleviate his ability to provide customer service.
If you really want every scenario covered then expect a decline in customer service because the two are mutually exclusive.
I guarantee the revised rules would have shut this thread down along time ago as Craig mentioned.
I have no problem with Greg running the instant replay camera. I have not seen him miss a call yet and it is his contest.

It all boils down to where do you draw the line re: human error?
Case by case seems like the route taken. I just hope folks don't decide to exploit/abuse this loophole based on this ruling that can/will be referenced to in the future.
Double edged sword.
