H2H Imbalance

Post by Gordon Gekko » Sun Dec 05, 2004 3:39 pm

going into week 13...

Team AFTER THE FALL played against teams that averaged 143 pts/week

Team Jensen played against teams that averaged 100 pts/week

H2H Records:
AFTER THE FALL 2-10
Team Jensen 9-3

Total pts scored:
AFTER THE FALL 1441.30
Team Jensen 1452.20

so, these two teams almost scored the same amount of points throughout the season, yet the H2H records are almost reversed. the beauty of H2H. someone please explain how this is "good" for the game. thanks.

the BS Alarm should be going off now.

In any event, didn't I tell you I'd see you in the playoffs? A 190 point week works every time. And you were worried about your measly 75 point lead...

H2H Imbalance

Thanks for sticking up for me in this debate, GG, as I'm still trying to get something out of Greg for leading the NFFC in points against. Seems to me the guy who gets screwed the most in H2H should get something for the abuse. :D In this debate, I'm kind of leaning towards a H2H + all play with H2H counting 1 point in the standings and all play counting either half a point or a full point. It's not fun being 2-10 but 7th in the power rankings and in points scored. I've scored 155 this week and am still in a dogfight.

H2H Imbalance

Do most players (especially at this level) really desire H2H in terms of making each week more fun? If you are in more than one league, chances are the guy helping you in one game is killing you in another, so the whole concept of H2H goes out the window. (A. Gates helping us in NFFC was killing my chances of making cash in another league, etc.)

There seems to be more passion behind mitigating 'luck' than maintaining an H2H format that's only entertaining for people involved in only one team per season (rare, these days.)
