Hmmm.....wonder if this was the same peer pressure texted my way? :)

This should be a tougher than typical DC Championship draft. I'm not familiar with everyone in this draft, but I've drafted enough against Wayne, Bill, and Mike over the years and heard enough of the exploits of Treffiletti to be happy that there's at least a couple spots between me and any of them.

Good luck to everyone in this draft tonight, it should be a nice challenge and a blast as well. Good way to start a weekend. ;)

Great, great, great job everyone tonight. We did 30 rounds in exactly 3 hours as this group was prepared, ready and able!! Fantastic draft. Great group of owners.

There's been a request to host one on the weekend, so we may try next Sunday, July 22nd at 7 pm ET. If there's an interest in any other night for a 60-second, 30-round DC let me know. But these can be done in 3 to 3.5 hours and still be part of the National Championship. For those who want to be part of this contest but would rather draft all 30 rounds in one night instead of over two weeks, these really do work out well.

Again, thanks everyone and best of luck. Look for a signup list for the next fast/slow draft league soon.

Greg, 7pm Sunday may be a rough start time for anyone with an NFBC squad with FAAB. You know your NFBC diehards are tweaking to the very last minute. :)

I agree that last night's draft was a pleasure. Everyone was on their game and it moved at a great pace. The only problem and the flip side of the coin is that everyone was on their game and the lack of talent on my final team roster reflects that. :o Still, I can definitely see myself joining another of these types of setups.

Good luck to everyone who took part in this draft the rest of the season and for the rest of your drafts.

Really had a great time with this draft! A tough bunch of owners who know their stuff. It was a pleasure. The draft was smooth and Greg was excellent as moderator.

Good luck this season guys.

The good:

This draft moved along at a very nice pace! It sure is fun to draft when you can get a 30 round draft done in 3 hours. Everybody kept it moving. It's also great to have live drafts going again. They are so much more fun than the slow drafts. It was definitely a good group of guys last night. It was just fun.

The bad:

There are more teams that are absolutely just dead in the water in this league than what you normally see. I'm guessing that's because it's early but I see 5-6 teams that have virtually no chance in this one. I guess the team composition kind of surprised me.

Let's keep doing these! Look at your calendars and let's all get signed up for next weekend.

Glenn, yes there's no doubt that if we host these on Sunday night we'll be eliminating any chance of having guys like you or anyone else with an NFBC team into these. Sunday nights are FAAB night for all NFBC guys and there would be no chance. But I do see a lot of football-only die-hards looking to do these and maybe it's time to capture them at the perfect time, which seems to be a Sunday night. And like Wayne said, man, with the right group of owners these can go in 3 hours and really be fun, informative and competitive.

Tom and I can't do Friday night this week because we'll be in Chicago for meetings, so let's just try Sunday night this week and then go with Friday night the following week. If you tell us a better day and time of the week than what we currently have, we'll try it. We agree, this is a nice change of pace for some folks and adds to what we're doing with the Slow Drafts.

So let's try Sunday night next week just because we can't do Friday night anyway and see what happens. In August, who knows, maybe we'll do both Friday and Sunday and see where it takes us. Thanks all and really it was a pleasure last night. I still could spend time with the kids, watch Whale Wars and monitor that draft!!! Doesn't get better than that, although because of the pace it was only a 3-beer night!!!
