I would have taken Ballard and BJG over Vereen in a heartbeat. Romo in sixth and im sure there were at least 6 or more WR who would have more value in the 6th. Vereen is a backup. My top 8 picks in any draft are guys who are starters. Im not spending picks on backup RBs till probably round 9 or later.

Wayne, Cruz, Nicks, and Jackson in the 5th. Thats value!! Bush, Mathews, and Vereen are your top 3 RBs. I wouldnt feel too good about them as my top 3. Bush is nice but the other 2 carry very high risk.

So BJG, who won't start after this weekend's draft or at best split time and Ballard, who may split time with Carter and Brown have more value? Not sure if you saw Vereen play in the playoffs, or Woodhead's stats last year. In PPR if he stays healthy on that team he will be a top 20 fantasy back. NO DOUBT! Also, remember this is a DC league. Not a regular draft. It's 35 rds. I can find more depth at WR than RB.

When you have Marshall and Julio Jones as your first 2 picks, you don't expect an RB run such as the one that happened. Thus you make due. I'm not a fan of Ryan Mathews, but he went in the first round of many drafts last year. You take a shot. I needed an RB and he was the best one left. Again, it's 35 rds in DC format. I still do love Vereen and would take him whenever and wherever I can.

I drafted in the first DC this year. My value for Ballard is much different than yours I guess. I dont see anytime share there. I could see where BJG might be unseated but probably not. He played well enough last year doesnt fumble, good in short yardage, and blitz pickup. There doesnt seem to be much love for any RBs in the draft this year. None project to be first rounders. How many rookies usually make an impact anyway. It took Spiller a couple years. I took Garcon and Ballard at the 5, 6 turn in my draft. Both are starting number one guys in my eyes. I do see where Vereen could come through by either injury to Ridley or he starts fumbling. But by watching Vereen play last year he didnt excite me. Seems like a very average player.

I can understand maybe Ballard over Vereen, but not BJE. they're drafting a back for sure. Indy's offense gives Ballard's value a good potential boost.

I started my draft w/ AJ Green and Demarius Thomas. My backs are D. Murray, Andre Brown, Vereen, Jonathon Franklin, 3 other lower tier rookie backs, Leon Washington, and Montell Owens. Not sure how it's going to work out, I definitely need to hit on a couple of those backs....

last year after Richardson and Martin, both first round picks, Hillman, Pierce, Miller, Ballard, Morris, Bryce Brown, D. Richardson all had some sort of impact and were taken in the 3rd round or later....

Hear you there. But last year wasnt a normal year. A lot of rookie Rbs contributed. That doesnt happen very often. Probably a few will this year but not on the level of Morris, Richardson and Martin. Scouts are all over the place on RBs and QBs for this years draft class which probably means there arent very good ones. Theres no AP, Spiller, or Richardsons in this years draft. Vereen will be a backup come week one.

A backup with at least 10 fantasy pts a week minimum.
