Adrian Peterson Will NOT Be Available In FAAB
Re: Adrian Peterson Will NOT Be Available In FAAB
Y'all can whine and complain, but if during week 16 you are fighting for #1 overall and $100K, and you're battling a team from another league that happened to scoop up AP on waivers because some numbnuts in that guy's league cut AP during week 3 and AP get's reinstated before playoff time, then you'd probably be upset with that too...
Re: Adrian Peterson Will NOT Be Available In FAAB
I have not read the entire thread yet and want to make my post based on my opinion now without reading every other post. I think this is the right decision. I did catch one post where someone was saying the rules are being made up along the way. We all want the rules to cover everything. Sadly, on occasion, something comes up that could not be predicted and the game operators have to act in a way that is best and most fair to the participants in the competition. That isn't making up rules as they go. That is an example of not hiding behind rules to avoid making a tough decision.
Comparing AP to other free agents that everyone had a shot at via the draft at some point is not a fair or reasonable comparison. The game operators have to look at the pros/cons of either allowing AP or not allowing him to be available in Faab. If you make him unavailable across all leagues there is an overall fairness across all leagues as it relates to the overall prizes. Lets be honest, there would be no circumstance other than season ending injury that would have normally lead to AP being released into the free agent pool. Nothing "unfair" happens by not making him available. The only teams being impacted are the teams who lost AP due to this unlucky (as it relates to fantasy) circumstance. Which is part of the game. Making him available to be picked up could sway the contest as it relates to the overall prizes if in week 12 he returns and only in certain leagues he was available to be picked up via faab.
I personally think it is the right decision that is fairest for the overall competition.

I now have read the thread. I think this post makes the point in a succinct way. Plus the usage of the word "redonkulous" is strong.Henry Muto wrote:Hard to believe anyone would be against this. So you really want the $100,000 champion decided possibly by the guy who gets lucky and picks up AP off waivers wire ? Yep that sounds fun. He may not play again this year but if he does and someone picks him up that be pretty redonkulous.

Re: Adrian Peterson Will NOT Be Available In FAAB
I could go either way on the removal or non-removal of him from the player pool, but with the decision that has been made am I correct in thinking that if AP is reinstated, that he will still be unavailable in leagues he was dropped in?
I think putting him back into the pool at a later date would be a huge mistake, since at that point teams will have quit or be devoid of FAAB funds, allowing him to more easily to be added by teams still in contention.

This is not even a debatable topic. The decision is consistent with the precedent the NFFC set in year 1. The whole reason to remove top 100 players that are dropped from the FA pool is to avoid collusion. Always has been and always will be a no brainer good policy in HSFF.

You nailed it Jim, the fear of "what happens if..." pervades almost every supportive post. We don't need safety nets for difficult decisions ... there is nothing collusive about someone dropping a player who could be worthless based on a very, very shaky outlook.Jim Christie wrote:This wasn't a tough decision it was a decision based on fear, IMO.
Of course, Goodell now is making decisions based on fear too, so ...

Looks like Josh Gordon will play WK 12. Not to be the "devils advocate", but did anybody draft Josh Gordon and drop him in the last couple weeks?

Peterson will not be admitted back into those player pools. He has been removed for the season.CALI CARTEL wrote:I could go either way on the removal or non-removal of him from the player pool, but with the decision that has been made am I correct in thinking that if AP is reinstated, that he will still be unavailable in leagues he was dropped in?
