Prize Structure For NFFC Satellite Leagues
Okay, I stand corrected on last year's mid-season leagues. We ran those on Mock Draft Central.com and then transferred the draft results over to our NFFC site.
Anyone feel more comfortable running the satellite league drafts on Mock Draft Central.com? Everyone currently has access to that site and it would be a safe alternative. I'd be interested in the feedback as we have a great relationship with Jason Pliml there.

Hey Greg..I dont know how others feel but I was apart of the NFFC mock draft for Fantasy Sports Magazine last year on mockdraftcentral and havent been back to the site since as I thought it was horrible software for running a min/min draft..for drafts that will take time it was fine, but unless they made numerous changes I would not want to do any satellites if mockdraft was used as the software..thats just my opinion but I wasn't a big fan of it last year...

Just as an FYI, we drafted the Gekko Invitational on Yahoo, then transferred. Yahoo's "draft room" is very, very good.
I haven't used the Stats draft so I don't have an opinion based on fact, not that lack of facts has ever stopped me before, lol.
One other option is a "slow draft" with a 6 or 8 hour timer which would take about 10 days. This could easily be done on MDC. Cranking those up the week of 8/15 would work just fine. Most players hate these, but it does allow everybody to play.

Shaun Alexander tears his ACL in camp, and here we are in the 11th round of a "slow moving draft". I just happen to be up when the news breaks, so I quickly gobble up Maurice Morris. Not fair at all!

There are several web sites with solid live drafting software, but for these satellite drafts we need customer support behind this and a structured set of draft rules (like 90 seconds per pick). We'll need a company that can monitor each draft and intercede if needed.
STATS can do this for us and that same software is being used by thousands of players each week in the SI.com game. I'm comfortable with this setup. But everyone also can test the Mock Draft Central software now and be familiar with it in time for the satellite leagues. Let me do more research on both and finalize this.
More final details to come on the satellite leagues today. We'll begin taking signups for these first thing next week.

Mockdraftcentral did not crash like STATS and it was a better overall drafting layout. My vote and strong preference would be for MDC.

Everyone who is signed up for the NFFC already should have an account with MDC and can practice as much as they'd like on that site for free. Jason Pliml also promises strong customer support service during each satellite league auction should anything go wrong. We'll begin taking signups for those satellite leagues on Monday. Enjoy.

Guys, I drafted on MDC last year and this year, and this year it's a LOT better. I think some guys were looking for later round players that were not in their database...That may be it's only flaw that they might want to look into. Other than that, it gives you every opportunity to have a smooth draft. Anyone with dial up will always have to remember to refresh, but if you have DSL or Broadband, you're good.

Greg, just looking at this today and would sign up for a league or two, BUT agree with edelman and absolutely HATED MDC in drafts last year. In fairness I will go over there this week and see if I can try one and see if the product has improved.

Perry, they have improved the site a lot this year. Please check it out as we just used it this week for an experts league draft and had no trouble. Tom said it's much improved from a year ago and I agree. We'll monitor each and every draft, but I honestly don't think anyone will have trouble with the site. You should have free access to it now and I recommend putting together a mock draft with some other satellite folks to test drive it. Thanks.
