Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Apr 10, 2007 8:20 am

It's good to welcome another original member of the NFFC family back for 2007 as Dave Clum of Pembroke Pines, Florida will be returning to the main event for the fourth straight year. Dave has drafted in Chicago the last three years and has also been an original member of our NFBC event, but this year he's staying closer to home and drafting in the $650 Draft Champions League at the Tampa Convention Center on Friday, Aug. 31st and again in Tampa for the main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Last year, Dave won $2,500 as he led his Ground Rats team to a second place finish in a very balanced Chicago League 3. The Ground Rats finished 8-5, one game out of first place, and finished 77th overall with 1,639.65 points, just 0.20 points behind the league leader. In the Championship Round, the Ground Rats finished 46th overall with 462.23 points. Great job Dave and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Let's stick with the Tampa signups and welcome back another original member of the NFFC family as Glenn Karant of Plantation, Florida will also be joining us for the NFFC's main event at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Glenn has drafted the last three years in New York, but this year he's keeping the SNAKE team closer to home and away from airplanes! :D Last year, SNAKE finished 4-9 in New York League 4, finishing with 1,327.9 points. He's back on the boards, competing in satellite leagues and even running the SNAKE Classic. Welcome back Glenn and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to officially welcome back another original member of the NFFC family and one of our most successful owners from 2006. Let's give it up for Michael Edelman of Elmwood Park, New Jersey as he will be returning to the New York HIlton on Aug. 31-Sept. 1 for the NFFC Trifecta. Michael will again team up with Keith Lewandowski for the main event and with Sal Cataldo for the $650 Auction League and the $650 Draft Champions League. Last year, Michael and Keith led their Incredible Hulking Us team to a third place overall finish in the Championship Round, earning $7,500 with a score of 6156.39 points. Incredible Hulking Us also won $2,500 during the regular season as it finished 9-4 in New York League 8, placing second in the league with 1,783.35 points. Incredible Hulking Us also won the New York $650 Auction League as it finished third during the regular season with 1,693.35 points and then ran the table in the playoffs, winning three straight games for the $3,350 league prize. Congrats on a great, great season last year guys and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

Last year, Jonathan's What Me Worry team finished 5-8 in the Ultimate League with 1,643.4 points, but rallied in the Consolation Round to finish with 395 points for a $1,000 prize. His Hoof Hearted team didn't fare quite as well in Las Vegas League 3, but Jonathan is ready to make amends this year with a money finish. Welcome back again Jonathan and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $37,500 Ultimate League prize.

The originals keep coming back and we're glad to welcome back for the fourth straight year to the NFFC Perry Van Hook of Surprise, Arizona. Perry had been with the NFFC and NFBC since their debuts in 2004 and has been among our most loyal owners. This year he's returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas and will be competing in the main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st and in the $650 Auction League on Friday, Aug. 31st. Last year, Perry led his BYE INTO IT Auction League team to a second place finish and $1,450 as it earned the sixth seed during the regular season with a 9-4 record and 1,541.5 points before winning its first two playoff games and losing in the Championship Game. His Here Kitna Kitna team also finished 8-5 in Las Vegas League 2 of the main event, placing 137th overall with 1,581.4 points. In the Consolation Round, his team placed 105th overall with 590.80 points. Welcome back Perry and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're honored to welcome back our runner-up finishers from 2006 as the tag team of David Lichtman and David Fisher of Smithtown, New Jersey will be joining us for the NFFC's main event again in 2007. The pair has drafted in New York the last three years, but they're moving the caravan to Las Vegas this year and planning a pre-event party at a suite in Vegas for the most serious NFFC die-hards!! I trust I might have to trapse over there and test the liquid refreshments beforehand for the safety of my customers!! :D Last year, David and David led FISHER to a second place finish in New York League 9 out of the 12th draft spot to earn $2,500, finishing 7-6 during the regular season and 21st overall with 1,755.85 points. FISHER then got hot in the Championship Round and finished second behind Rob Benetti with 621.12 points to earn an additional $15,000. Great job guys and it should be a blast having you in Las Vegas. Oh, and best of luck once again in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Many of the original members of our NFFC family were among our earliest signups for 2007 and it's good to welcome them all right away. Among that group is Alex Kaganovsky of New York City, who will claim home field advantage for the fourth straight year in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Nag led his Strictly Business team to a 6-7 record in New York League 3 last year, placing 225th overall with 1,490.55 points. Welcome back Alex and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

We always like it when the husband and wife compete in the NFFC, but we like it twice as much when they take separate teams!! :D We're glad to welcome back Calvin and Madeline Suer of Metairie, Louisiana to the NFFC's main event for the second straight year as they will once again be drafting at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Cal joined the NFFC in 2005 and won a league title despite missing the draft because of Hurricane Katrina. He had his daughter help out and now it's become a family gathering each year in the Big Apple. Last year, Cal's Team Suer team finished 8-5 in New York League 5 with 1,563.75 points. Madeline also led her team suer squad to an 8-5 record n New York League 1, placing 206th with 1,513 points and then placing 52nd in the Consolation Round with 626.49 points. We're glad to have both of you back for separate teams in the main event and we wish both of you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prizes.

Ronald Eltanol of Glen Ellyn, Illinois joined the NFFC for the first time last year and had a great run at the grand prize, finishing seventh overall. He led his Billsville Trojans team to an 8-5 record in the highly competitive Chicago League 2, but didn't win any money despite finishing 31st overall with 1,727.80 points. That was only good enough for fourth place in Chicago 2, but the Trojans got on a roll in the Championship Round and finished seventh overall with 578.71 points. Wow, what a wild season. Great job Ron and welcome back to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott for this year's main event. Oh, and best of luck once again for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
