There are others I could see, but McGahee just doesn't fit the "blueprint" in my eyes.

I also agree with Snake that the actual top 5 next year won't be the consensus top 5 as there is always the one or two that slip in there and the one or two who slide out. I wouldn't throw McGahee in that sliding in group but if Ricky goes to Denver I could see both him and Mr. Brown becoming popular and I include Mr. Brown over McGahee in the same division because of the receiving factor that McGahee has yet to show and the Losman factor. How will J.P. do this year and what will his receiving corps look like? Ah so many question marks as 2005 comes to and end and 2006 begins.

If Ricky Williams goes to Denver, Mike Anderson will be shipped out. But Tatum Bell will still be there cutting into some fantasy time. I can't see myself taking him with a first round pick, but to each their own.

McGahee with Holcomb at QB all year will do better. If J.P. is again under center, you can have him! Moulds will be gone next year too. Buffalo has some offensive adjusting to do before the start of the 2006 season.

Here are the facts;

1) He only scored FIVE TD's all season (and only one in his last 10 games!)

2) He was the 16TH best RB in NFFC scoring last year.

3) As Scarecrow mentioned, his division is getting very "defensive" (pun intended).

How can you possibly justify him even being a first round pick? Is there something that we are missing? Personally, I doubt I would even take him with EITHER of my picks at #14.

justification comes in two things that you can't see and that can't be measured but is so often overlooked; heart and pride...SNAKE In that case, I will be looking forward to seeing you take Wayne Chrebet over Randy Moss in the 2nd round! ;)

[/QUOTE]One of the more interesting things from year to year is the shifting that takes place in the top 20. We can just about count on every year having it's own "can't miss" pick becoming a huge bust.

Injuries do play a large role in this, as McCallister owners have found out the last 2 years.

The "U" has consistantly been giving us quality NFL RB's. James and Portis have certainly lived up to the billing and I don't doubt the talent of McGahee. For my $$$ though, he needs a few more solid players around him to be a fantasy stud. Losman wrecks his value IMO. Evans is a play maker that can keep defenses honest, but only if someone can get him the ball.

Portis could easily slip into the top 5 along with S.Jackson if he gets the rock enough.

So who's #6? Who cares! The #1 WR is probably more valuable with this pick - that is if you truely want to go against the masses snake.

Now would be the time to do a mock draft if you wanted to see who was the best prognosticator. It's like Diesel and I were discussing - by August with all the info access, even the most lazy FF owner can get "caught up" in a couple of days.

Ricky to Denver? TO anywhere? C-pep to Arizona?
These are just a few ???'s that WILL be answered by the time draft day gets here. That makes it too easy for the masses. What about now? Check out all the conversation and varying opinions and the Super Bowl hasn't even been played yet. LOL.

I wonder who would win if the draft were held today? :D

Jerry Rice coming back for one year is great. I heard he will sign with Indy. He may be a top 20 WR now. ;)

McGahee had a 3.8 avg this year. Not bad for a guy who really was a bust after about week 5 or 6...But like Route C said, he needs help around him on O...Snake, if the Bills do nothing for their offense from now until draft day, you boy McGahee may be easily obtainable for you in the top 6-9 picks.
