mb Consensus Mock Draft
here is the full first round:
1.01 Adrian Peterson
1.02 Maurice Jones-Drew
1.03 Matt Forte
1.04 Michael Turner
1.05 Chris Johnson
1.06 Steven Jackson
1.07 Larry Fitzgerald
1.08 Andre Johnson
1.09 LaDainian Tomlinson
1.10 Steve Slaton
1.11 Randy Moss
1.12 Calvin Johnson
1.13 Reggie Wayne
1.14 Frank Gore

and we start the second round
2.01 Steve Smith
2.02 DeAngelo Williams
2.03 Brian Westbrook
2.04 Marion Barber
2.05 Greg Jennings
2.06 Anquan Boldin
2.07 Roddy White
2.08 Brandon Jacobs
2.09 Wes Welker
2.10 Marques Colston
2.11 Dwayne Bowe
and now YOU are the 3rd drafter and now at 2.12 - you already have Matt Forte, so.... WHO would YOU pick if you were in this spot in the draft? choices are

Clinton Portis
Ronnie Brown
Reggie Bush
Pierre Thomas
Brandon Marshall
T.J. Houshmandzadeh
Terrell Owens
Tom Brady
Drew Brees
Jason Witten
Tony Gonzalez

At this point to me it's a question of whether you want to roll the dice on Marshall....personally I will pass on that

and I don't mind starting RB/RB, so I will take
Clinton Portis

Since we're making the decision now, I'd pass on Marshall due to the hamstring injury. But if everything turns out to be fine for Marshall then he'd be the guy I'd take if this was a draft held on NFFC weekend.

There's my caveat.

OK, so eliminating Marshall and realizing the talent at WR is going to fall off dramatically now and with 3RR coming up, I'm not comfortable reaching for someone like TO as my WR1. I like Portis but I feel good about having Forte so I'll pass on a RB. What does that mean?

It means I would rather take the proven production as opposed to reaching for a WR or taking a RB2. The most productive player on the board is now a QB. Brees is my No. 1-ranked QB and so he's going to be my pick here.
