Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Aug 15, 2007 3:03 am

We now have 16 owners for the $650 Draft Champions League in Las Vegas on Friday, Aug. 31st as we welcome another veteran NFFC member to the 2007 event. Ron Kloeden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin led his Fresh Outta Lollipops team to a 4-9 record and 1,265.0 points last year in Las Vegas League 7 of the main event and this year he's trying his hand at the $650 Draft Champions League. Welcome back Ron and best of luck in the hunt for this $4,250 league prize.

We're doing all we can to fill a second $650 Auction League in Las Vegas as we now have 20 owners for that event in Las Vegas on Friday, Aug. 31st. Let's give it up for the return of Ron Kloeden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin as he will be joining us again in this event. Ron led his Fresh Outta Lollipops team to a 6-7 record in Las Vegas AC 2 last year, just missing the playoffs with 1,532.75 points. Welcome back Ron and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 in league prizes.

We officially have seven full leagues for the main event in New York and 22 full leagues overall thanks to the arrival of Jay Cioffi of Ronkonkoma, New York. Jay and his partner James Rutha will be joining us for the first time at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st and they are excited about the NFFC competition. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

That officially leaves us with 56 spots for the main event, but actually we have less than 50 spots left as I have several other signups on my desk just waiting for payment to be finalized. We'll definitely fill an eighth league in New York and may not stop there. Keep the signups coming, but don't wait too long. We'd gladly close this out at 364 teams and get the draft picks to you. First-come, first-serve on the remaining spots. Thanks all.

We officially started our eighth league in the main event in New York and 23rd overall with the arrival of our 2004 NFBC overall champion Artie Rastelli of Hoboken, New Jersey. Artie has been a loyal member of the NFFC and NFBC families since 2004 and winning $105,000 in our debut event didn't hurt at all, either!! :D Last year, Artie led his Triple A team to a 7-6 record in New York League 2, placing 124th overall with 1,596.65 points. Artie drafted from the 13th spot last year, so he's definitely loving 3RR this year!! Welcome back Artie and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have 109 teams for the main event in Las Vegas as we're working to fill our eighth league at the Flamingo on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Let's welcome a familiar face to the NFFC family as David Longood of Salem, Oregon will be returning to the NFFC's main event after a one-year absence. David is an original member of the NFBC and NFFC and in fact his NFBC teams are kicking some butt right now, with his Ultimate Auction League team leading the race for the $40,000 league prize. David competed in the NFFC in 2004 and 2005, but couldn't make last year's draft because of a scheduling conflict. Welcome back David and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for the tag team of Thomas Kay and Jason Dunham of Union City, California as they will be joining us for the main event and the DC League on Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Thomas and Jason are new to our high-stakes events and we welcome them with free drinks and free gifts!! Thanks guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Las Vegas is making a strong push to fill out that eighth full league for the main event and to hold off New York as the most populated city on Draft Day. Let's give it up for our newest members of the NFFC family as Horacio and Graciela Fernandez of Laredo, Texas will be joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the main event. Welcome aboard Horacio and Graceiela and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have EIGHT FULL LEAGUES in Las Vegas -- 112 teams -- for the NFFC's main event as we welcome yet another new team to the NFFC family. Let's give it up for Michael Holt of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida as he will be joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the big dance. Welcome aboard Michael and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, can we fill up a ninth league in Las Vegas? We'll keep the signup page open for Sin City, but late signups could be put in a teleconference league if it doesn't fill. Still, we'll keep things going as it would be great to get 126 teams in Las Vegas and there are still NFFC teams from last year who drafted there who haven't signed up yet. Keep 'em coming and let's get this one done. Thanks all.

What would the NFFC draft in New York be like without the King of Hoagies?? :D I'm glad we don't have to answer that question as I'm honored to welcome Richie Primo of Sewell, New Jersey and Primo's Hoagies to the NFFC for a fourth straight season. Richie is always a late signup as he's working WAAAAAYYYYY too much, but after 100 phone call messages from yours truly he finally gave me a call today and grabbed a team in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Last year, Richie led the Grid Reapers to a second place finish and $2,500 in New York League 5, going 9-4 and placing 24th overall with 1,752.60 points from the 13th draft spot. The Grid Reapers then placed 22nd overall in the Consolation Round with 524.97 points. The lure of the grand prize and the friendships in New York brought Richie back for another season and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
