Bill Simmons is a Patriots' homer for sure but I thought he made a good point this week when he asked what Goodell has done that should lead Brady to trust him in any way? He's bungled numerous punishments already. There's absolutely no reason for any player to trust Goodell at this point when it's crystal clear he has no concept on how to consistently and fairly apply punishments to transgressions.BigBlueNation wrote:Intellegent people can spin anything anyway they want, but if Atallah's interview was the truth, I support Brady even more than I did previously.

I'm a Steeler fan and if they can't win the SB this year, I'm damn sure pulling for NE just to see the trophy presentation.Tom Kessenich wrote:Bill Simmons is a Patriots' homer for sure but I thought he made a good point this week when he asked what Goodell has done that should lead Brady to trust him in any way? Good article showing how ESPN has been used by the NFL to distribute misinformation about the Brady case:

Geez, the more you read about Deflategate the more the NFL looks like a big, bad bully, with ESPN as its mouthpiece. Mort got taken on this report and he should apologize for that and even name the source he set him up:

Mort absolutely needs to step up. His initial report was clearly wrong and it's still hanging out there and creating a lot of the bias against Brady and the Patriots. He's a great reporter but one of the attributes all great reporters share is they don't run away and hide when they report something inaccurate. They step up and apologize and explain what happened. Six months later and as Bob Kraft said this week we're still waiting for Mort to be a man and admit his report was a lie.

Or maybe he should call out the source who set him up. There was ONE of 12 balls below the level, not 11 of 12.Tom Kessenich wrote:Mort absolutely needs to step up. Between the league's own NFL Network and almost league-owned ESPN, it's no wonder the reporting has been so NFL favored. Sorry, but this is really beginning to smell like a dead fish. I'm no Patriots fan, but this was a non-story early on and now because of league leaks, league misinformation, misreporting and an out of control Commissioner we have an issue that may not have been an issue at all. Or if it was it was a misdemeanor at best.
I agree, Mort needs to step up. Correct the misinformation and call out who set you up Mort.

Re: Make Your Prediction: Brady's Suspension Appeal
As a former reporter, I'm truly baffled how a reporter can print a story that was clearly and without question invalidated and not do anything to acknowledge it. As a former reporter it's just baffling to me that Mort could let this go on for this long. Unless, of course, he's on the NFL payroll.
And if that's the case we have an even bigger problem going on.
It's in Mort's best interests to admit what he wrote was inaccurate. At the very least that would calm the belief his reluctance to do so now is because the NFL is telling him not to. His credibility is on the line here in my opinion. It will be very difficult, if not impossible, to trust any of his reporting going forward.

Re: Make Your Prediction: Brady's Suspension Appeal
Okay, Roger Goodell made it pretty clear this weekend at the Hall of Fame festivities that he wasn't backing down on his 4-game suspension for Tom Brady and will fight this to the end. The judge is asking the two sides to come to a resolution without involving the courts, but Roger isn't budging.

Before the Aug. 12th hearing, do you still believe Brady misses four games this year?
Or do the two sides agree to a reduction in games and a big fine? What do you think?
