Alrite Sandman you are very adimant about your strategy. I will add that if I draft 7-14 I would rather take a wr first but drafting 1-6 i would probably draft RB RB. it makes very little sense to take a WR if the value is not there in round 2 which seems to be the trend. You have to go with what you personally feel is the value. Only about 16 Rbs or so last year were worthy of starting on a fantasy roster and about 35 or so Wrs were. Do the math. RBs are a commodity. If RBBC is true than it makes sense to get one of the few workhorse backs. As far as the stats go with the past to now didnt LT2 and S alexander break the touchdown record in consecutive years recently. If anything I think the league has become more about the pass and RBs are getting better stats via through the air ie LT, westbrook, gore, rice etc. I can always remember teams using two backs.
As far as my success at drafting wides in their breakout years yes I have been able to do it most years. R williams and Megatron in detroit A. Johnson his first big year about 4 years ago. Even cotchery and berrian on their coming out parties. People always slept on galloway. Last year i was big on drafting Mason and Driver in rnds 6 and 7. Had one or both on all of my teams.
I also have to admit that S smith and MSW were not on my radar.
Lets not forget freeagency. I picked up guys last year like Collie and Wallace which helped at the Flex position. I didnt get any serviceable RBs in FA.
I have to disagree with you on hightower he was just alrite. Not much help for my primtime team.
I guess I hope that many feel the way you do sandman because I would rather draft in the top 6 and start my draft with a RB workhorse stud and see what the draft brings from there.
One last hint I forsee a lot of breakout wides this year. More so than Rbs. A lot of dependable stud WRs have retired or gotten old. This makes room for a new batch of studs to establish themselves.

I agree with that just didnt want to give up too much of my strategy this year. Mnay ways to skin a cat but there is always the BEST WAY.

To each their own. If we draft 1-6 we'll probably take a RB first. Otherwise, probably stick with wr/wr. I guess we all have our own idea of what a "serviceable RB is". If we wait til rd4 to draft RBs then our definition will be different than someone who is taking RB in rds 1 & 2 just due to we will likely be stronger at wr.
Good luck to all varying strategies.

The question remains, how do you plan to set your KDS to get your targeted WR's in the first two rounds? I already know the RB you intend on targeting in round 3, but what's the backup plan if he's taken? Inquiring minds want to know...
