Trendsetters 2012

Post by Glenneration X » Sat Apr 14, 2012 1:27 am

The fourth phase of Trendsetters has ended and this my team through 21 rounds......

QB - Peyton Manning
QB - Tim Tebow

RB - Ray Rice
RB - Marshawn Lynch
RB - Beanie Wells
RB - Joseph Addai

WR - Mike Wallace
WR - Vincent Jackson
WR - Sidney Rice
WR - Santana Moss
WR - Eric Decker

TE - Dallas Clark
TE - Evan Moore

K - Sebastian Janikowski
K - Dan Carpenter

D - Vikings
D - Rams

I also loaded up with the 3rd, 8th, 10th, and 11th picks in the rookie draft, so I hope to fill a couple holes with prospects in a couple weeks. The rookie draft and what I'm able to obtain with these picks will probably go a long way in determining what kind of season I end up having.

Tebow losing his starting role, Washington bringing in new WR's, Tamme following Manning instead of Clark. You're going to have to catch something at TE. Maybe Clark will stay in Indy and become Luck's favorite target. I think I might have grabbed another TE or two instead of come of the rookie picks. It's really tough to get a rookie TE that does anything outside of NE. :D

Here is my trendsetters team through 21 rds...

QB-Dalton,Sanchez,Mccoy

RB-Chris Johnson,Bradshaw,Gerhart,Green-ellis,Woodhead

WR-Welker,Nelson,Mike williams(TPA) Vincet Brown,Lafell,Bess

TE-Witten,danials,Moeaki

K-Nugent,Folk

D-Giants,saints

That is it as of now. No rookie picks for me this year. I need sanchez and mccoy to keep their jobs this year. I sure wish I could have gotten a 3rd K. I'd give my team a B at this point.

I think this is a decent team but honestly I just don't see enough firepower to make up for what you're going to be giving up at QB. You really need McCoy to not only start but contribute to compete. There is some nice upside at WR and the BGE signing in Cincinnati was a huge plus.

Great stuff guys. Did each owner write an analysis of their teams on Jules' site or somewhere else like you did last year? I'd love to link that here for all to see if you did. Love this early draft and we'll definitely analyze the Trendsetters league and get the talk going before we kick off our Draft Champions National Championship. Good job all and we'll get this league set up on the NFFC site early this year. Someone email Tom and me the finished results and we'll get the league loaded into the system. Thanks.

Slow is one thing, but 5 rounds every 3 weeks; now that's slooooww. Maybe it's my impatience or the fact I have the attention span of a.....wait, look, there goes a butterfly....oh well, here's the damage after 21 rounds:

QB: Tony Romo
QB: Ben Roethlisberger
QB: Matt Cassel

RB: Matt Forte
RB: Darren McFadden
RB: Steven Jackson
RB: Jonathan Stewart

WR: Desean Jackson
WR: Anquan Boldin
WR: Lance Moore
WR: Austin Collie
WR: Eddie Royal
WR: Mike Thomas

TE: Heath Miller
TE: Marcedes Lewis
TE: Zach Miller (Sea)

K: Matt Prater
K: Ryan Longwell

D: San Francisco
D: Houston
D: Pittsburgh

Slow but isn't it great always having a draft going from Super Bowl to NFL draft??? ;)

I really like how you have rounded out your team. When you didn't have a TE I was wondering if you would be able to get enough upside to make it work but I think you accomplished that. Forte and Stewart might have both have taken small hits with free agency but still a very solid team.

Riff, looking at your team...I think that is a GREAT overall draft. Heath Miller and M.Lewis are guys who will be touchdown TE's. Nothing special, but they should hit the end zone a few times. That will help you starting lineup, considering how late you waited for the TE position. Plus, if you get the Zach Miller from two years ago, NOT the fragile Zach Miler from last year, you've immediately got a SOLID TE right there. Good job with overall depth.

QB: Eli Manning
QB: Alex Smith

RB: Mikel Leshoure - Javid Best
RB: StevanRidley - Shane Vereen
RB: Roy Helu - Evan Royster

WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: AJGreen
WR: DwayneBowe
WR: JacobyFord
WR: AdrianArrington

TE: BrentCelek
TE: KyleRudolph
TE: KellenDavis

D/ST: Oakland/Washington

K: Crosby/Barth/Suisham

This has been SUCH a fun draft. I feel priviledged just to be a part of it. I have absolutely zero concerns with this team (I'm sure my buddies Wayne or Jack will let me know).

JMO
QB. Eli is on the verge of being top 5 with those WR's. With SF FA signings, Alex a getting his chance to be very good.

RB. VERY skeptical. but, they're hancuffed, hopefully

WR: absolutetly love AJGreen. I took Calvin at 4, AJ may put up better numbers. NO passed on Randy Moss after Meachem left. AA has the size and speed to be productive.

TE: MR Vick, meet Mr Celek. he will make you a better QB.

D/ST: need any 2

K: gotta have at least 3 in this format. they are more important than D/ST

BTW: right, wrong, or indifferent, I went WR,WR,WR with my first 3 picks..and I have not or will not take any Rookies in this draft. I'll leave all of them to Glenn.

Kevin Smith
Danny Woodhead
Shannahan - he loves what's behind door number 3.

I"m just kidding around. Your team is a boom/bust team. It has the fire power to compete but could easily finish last with those question marks at RB. You did a good job getting the backups so you could be safe. Unless someone breaks out at RB, I would see this team middle of the pack. If LeShoure was going to be the starter all year in Detroit then I would like this team a lot better. Maybe the commish will be kind to him....
