if you want i can come up with the clean process on how it works...
I've already heard from a few who weren't in favor of doing that for this event. Let's do it in the Gekko Invitational and see how it works. For baseball, I'll let those Ultimate owners tell me what they want for 2006 and would do it if EVERYONE was in favor of it.
Might be time to fire up that new thread on the idea of draft slot bidding!

Pete [/QB]
If I did that you guys would fight for the next three weeks over whether you're picking two WRs or two RBs with your first two picks. Let's hold the fighting off for a few more days!

Greg-
Whats the total count currently @ for the 100K challenge? Also whats your prediction for the final tally?
Thanx in advance.
P.S. If you are serious about a South Florida draft next year let me know ASAP so I can "Pump You Up"
It's gettin tougher for the boyz to leave town especially on a Holiday weekend. And who wants to bring sand to the beach anyway.

It's 220 paid entries and I was hoping that we'd reach last year's total of 224 today, but it hasn't happened yet. Tom and I have verbal commitments from several 2004 participants, but we're not announcing them until they're officially signed up. I still feel real good that we'll top 300 teams for that, four auction leagues, 3-4 Draft Champions Leagues and one Ultimate League. The last two weeks should be strong again, just like last year when we added 60 main event teams over the last two weeks.
South Florida sounds good. Just don't make plans yet.

Blind bidding for draft spots!! No way, yet it is always beneficial to here how it could be accomplished more ABSOLUTELY unbiased than a completely random drawing. Random drawing makes absolutely everyone equal from the get go and then the rest of the season is determined by the owner's ability to manage and pick off the waiver wire. Also Lady Luck plays another huge role. Lets hear from you all. Hoof

Hoof That's the thing... if you don't like the idea of bidding on draft slots (blind or full auction format!) then you should love the idea of bidding on draft slots because you can watch the other owners burning up their precious FAAB while you take what's left and draft a great team PLUS dominate the FA pulls.
It's so perfect because it benefits everyone. The beatniks who think a top spot means victory can have that slot. Those who believe position doesn't matter in the draft can watch the fools squander their cash. It suits EVERYONE...
And that is the key.
