Coltsfan wrote:Wow! I just read this entire thread. It sounds like it's been beat to death but this just honestly makes me mad. I hope that this isn't allowed to happen. It's a terrible precedent and it could affect a future league much more so than it might be this one. My thoughts:

1. This is not bad play - this is sabotage! Put the players back on his team that he dropped.

2. There is no excuse!!! NONE!!! Don't take up for this loser by saying he's having a tough season. That's makes me want to puke. This is all about intent and we know what his intent was.

3. Understand that whatever you do here will be a precedent for the next time it happens. You can't shrug this off because it may not have a huge impact on this league.

4. Don't let this guy play next year. Take control of your contest and make it clear people can't disrespect you, the NFFC, and it's players like this.

I honestly think that I"m just about as mad at the response as I was what this guy did. I hope you take into account what will happen next time as well and not just look at how it affects this particular league.

Wayne
agree with this post. while it's fortunate the h2h standings won't be affected it's clear that free agency will be. it also sets a dangerous precedent for if someone were to do this in a situation where it did affect the standings. it'd also be a shame if a team gained or lost an advantage by picking up one of his cut players or by missing out on one of the guys that he picked up (because i'm sure he has more than 7 useful players and those cut players are not being cut for any reason other than to say "screw you league!")

his intent was childish and clear.

Greg Ambrosius wrote:All good points Mike and as I said to you last night I have slept on this and we will address this today. We locked out those 7 players in free agency for next week. We have time today to make a call here for Week 11. He had no players among all 40 playing last night and no players are on bye. We also learned something about this situation recently that helps us here. So we've lost nothing in the 24 hours since our decision. We'll make the right call today and move on.

There's great passion for the NFFC here and we appreciate all of the points. Nobody wants to see an owner stick a middle finger to the NFFC or the passion of any single league. We quickly locked out the top free agents and after learning more will make a call in time to do the right thing for Week 11. Thanks again for the feedback.
Thanks for listening and reconsidering Greg. I apologize that I came on so strong on this, but I was just frustrated at what seemed pretty cut and dry to me. But you're right, the NFFC IS a passionate group - and integrity is important. I do appreciate the personal, hands-on touch you and Tom strive for. Keep up the good work.

-Mike

P.S.
In addition to whatever further measures you employ to rectify the league competition, please also consider that the current rule that the penalty for sabotage is disqualification doesn't really punish a person who obviously has already quit and no longer cares about that league (or being disqualified from it). It would seem that the punishment needs to go beyond that specific league. Thanks again.

Billy, you just never quit.

Bwaz vs. Snake for 7 years on our Message Boards. And the other owner just runs his teams and doesn't cause any problems, yet there you are again.

Seriously Greg?????? Should we go back and copy some of the messages that Glenn was posting about your integrity and the NFFC last year? He absolutely called you out publicly. You were accused of things that I couldn't believe I was reading yet you let him back in. I never wanted Glenn to go but the point is that there doesn't seem to be anything anyone can possibly do here to have any long term consequences. I"m at a loss as to what it could possibly be...

Wayne pretty much said what I wanted to respond.

1) If I had numerous people complaining that they didn't want to play anymore at the NFFC because of me, I was never made aware of that.

2) I never tried to destroy you, Tom, or STATS, and we knew about that happening because you posted it here.

I know you don't like me Greg, and for whatever reason you have always put me on the same "level" as Snake. I take full accountability for my "doings with Snake". I know that I will FOREVER be linked to Snake because all of the nonsense that he and I did (that is all on me). I didn't however do the things above, get banned, etc.

I simply brought up the example of Snake, because like Wayne, I am at a loss as to what it takes to have consequences around here. Not trying to start anything.

Those of you who are mad at me can take solace in the fact the owner in question lashed out at me as well via email for questioning whether he was intentionally trying to sabotage his league. Nice to know I can p**s off both sides of the discussion and have everyone calling me out. Thanks God it's Friday.

Don't go there man. :D Bogues doesn't suck; he can just never stay healthy. Too bad too because when healthy he's still a terrific defensive player.

Pissing off both sides is called playing the middle Tom. I"m probably a lot less pisssed off than I sound but I really hope that this kind of action isn't tolerated here.

If nothing else this thread sure makes it feel like football season is in full swing on the boards. Eight pages of comments in less than a day. First subject this season that really brought out the passion in many.

Ahhhhh, it really is football season. All is good!!! :D

It wasn't my intention to play the middle, Wayne. I thought the fact we enforced a rule we rarely enforce was a pretty strong indication we took this situation seriously but it would appear I was wrong to have made that assumption.
