steve - even the great GG can take a step back (i arrived and participated in the auction without a single auction $ value)
talk to Greg about how quiet i was on thursday

Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

If I remember correctly, GG was back to his noisy self by the start of the Main Event. This was impressive considering the late arrival and obvious hangover.

Something stinks for me, Greg, with the "defensive" points when Jacksonville can hold Tennessee to 126 total yards and 3 points and get screwed because the offense gave up 21. I realize this is more the exception than the rule but if you are going to reward "defenses" for their efforts, defensive td's against need to be deleted somehow from the equation or there need to be "yardage" points as suggested earlier.
As for the other ideas, I see them all as being excellent positives for moving the league forward. You've done an excellent job of weeding through everyone's "pet peeve" bs and pushing all of the right buttons.
I am considering a 12-team satellite league with team qb and team kicker and a little bit different scoring system than the NFFC. DC format with FA and weekly H2H. Will this be a problem for STATS or are they locked into the NFFC scoring system? This league could bring 10 new teams from New Orleans into the NFFC.

I hear ya Rick, but many times there are interceptions that are returned to the 5-yard line or inside the Red Zone that eventually lead to TDs. Do we not count those, too? Offensive turnovers that result in points calculate on the scoreboard, so basically our defensive scoring totals reflect all scoring, including special teams and I guess offensive blunders. I feel your pain, but there are many ways the offense can indirectly affect the defensive scoring totals and it doesn't just have to be from a turnover returned for a score.
Hell, look at the Pittsburgh-Oakland game or the Packers-Vikings games for examples similar to your Jax game. But it's part of football, as you know all too well.
As for the scoring, yes I'm contracted with STATS to do 14-team NFFC scoring games. When we make up new rules or new scoring systems, we need to have them in the contract ahead of time. If you can let me know what you're thinking about soon I'll see what I can do. I'm signing off on our 2007 contract this week. STATS has been a great back-end partner and they do adjust to my needs, but the satellites have taken off so much in the past year that there are new expenses to me and limitations. It became a beast last year with like 30+ leagues. We have to be smart about those this year.

Very good point Greg. That's a side of this that I haven't thought of.

I agree Greg, and it actually takes into account a little more strategy.
Example:
Do I start Oakland's defense today KNOWING there is a good chance that Andrew Walter/Aaron Brooks will throw 3 INT that will;
A) possibly be returned for TD's
OR
B) give the ball back to the team they are playing in good position to score and hurt my defense that way!
That is why you take defenses like the Bears, who have a solid QB like Rex Grossman who doesn't turn the ball over! :rolleyes:
I actually almost fell out of my seat typiing that!
