Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon May 14, 2007 7:30 am

We're glad to welcome back Ed O'Donnell of Hopkinton, Massachusetts to the NFFC's live draft for the second straight year as Ed will be joining us this year at the New York Hilton for the $650 Draft Champions League, the $650 Auction League and the NFFC's main event. Ed is currently competing in the NFBC and is looking forward to another go-around in football. Last year his Nutty Scrats team finished 5-7-1 in the New York Auction League and finished sixth in total points with 1,548.85 points, while Ed will even admit that his Nutty Scrats team in New York League 1 underwhelmed, shall we say. ;) The good thing Ed is that you get another shot to improve that team. Welcome back once again, Ed, and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're glad to welcome back one of our rare three-time winners from last season as Richard Dunn of Scottsdale, Arizona will be returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas on Aug. 31-Sept. 1st for the $650 Draft Champions League and the NFFC main event. Rich gets comped into both events this year as he won a pair of satellite leagues last year plus $4,250 for winning the Las Vegas Draft Champions League. Last year was Rich's first in the NFFC and he definitely put his skills to the test. He led his Team Dunn to the LV Draft Champions League title with 2,648.35 points, and also won the Aug. 6th BBDS Draft Champions Satellite League for a free entry, finishing with 2,649.69 points. He also won the $100 winner-take-all Aug. 23rd NFFC Satellite League with 2,406 points and his Desert Fog team finished 56th overall in the main event, going 6-7 in Las Vegas League 2 and finishing with 1,670.9 points. Great, great season Rich and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We're glad to welcome another owner to Tampa for our main event as Frank Heron of Miami, Florida will avoid the flight to Las Vegas this year and drive over to the Tampa Convention Center for some fun. Frank is currently in our NFBC events and he was all set to compete in the NFFC last year before a last minute snafu got in the way. Frank is so excited about the upcoming football season that he has signed up for the main event and the Ultimate Auction League. Welcome aboard Frank and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $37,500 in the Ultimate Auction League.

Let's give it up for the return of another original member of the NFFC family as Eddy Betancourt of Woodhaven, New York will be returning to the New York Hilton on Friday, Aug. 31st for the $650 Auction League. Eddy has competed in our Auction League since our debut season and even moved into the NFBC's event this year for the first time. Last year, Eddy led his Bagglers to a 6-7 record in the New York Auction League, just missing the playoffs with 1,425.1 points. That was a very interesting league as 10 of the 14 teams finished either 7-6 or 6-7. Eddy has already signed up for three NFFC satellite leagues and looks to be mighty active this year in the NFFC. Welcome back Eddy and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We now have five owners signed up for the Chicago Draft Champions League on Friday, Aug. 31st as Mike Wheeler of Greenville, Wisconsin returns for a third straight season of action. Mike lives just down the road from us here and we're happy to have him back as he likes the Draft Champions format. Last year his Stone Cold Lock team finished 11th in the Chicago Draft Champions League with 2,125.55 points, but this year Mike is expecting a money finish. Welcome back Mike and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,250 league prize.
