[CRICKETS] IM still waiting.Players dont talk about you as a player, sorry to break the news.
AS many others have said , ONE TRICK PONY. 1. you are a ZERO-trick pony.
2. a lot of your success has come from getting premium draft slots
1+2 = roadkill in my rearviewmiror

You boys sure are passionate for Jan. 11th. Carry on, though, I like it.
GG, I told you to be careful disrespecting Eddie Cool J. His resume is pretty impressive and he looks pretty good holding up a check for $47,537.50 in the magazine I'm looking at right now!

When do you bring your A-GAME the most?
I'd say the Main event trumps all for bringing your best game/draft/plan...because there is the most to win/fame etc.
BUT...If I were playing in the main event AND the Ultimate...and the Ultimate was drafted AFTER the main event...I may save my best game for the Ultimate.
Just an angle to think about. Satellites, magazine and side leagues RARELY IF EVER get a players best effort...it's part of the posturing/bluffing involved in fantasy sports.
~Lance I'm still dumbfounded by this insane thinking, "I save my best for the main stuff." I guess that's because I'm a true competitor and don't like to give a half-a$$ effort in any endeavor I enter, regardless.
[/QUOTE]I agree with this statement 100%, as you ALWAYS should do your best.
HOWEVER..... as someone who played in TEN different NFFC leagues this past year, I can tell you in some I did take "chances" (for lack of a better word) that I wouldn't have taken in the Main. That is not to say I took players who I was really down on, but I might take that "high risk upside guy" in a $100 satellite while I would prefer a more "consistent" player in the Main (just as an example).
Also, everyone talks about how some satellites have the "better" players. While I believe this to be true in many leagues I participated in, I can also tell you that because you know who certain owners like, the draft is MUCH more predictable, and therefore could be considered an easier draft. MOST of the time in the Main, you are with 10-12 guys who you have "no idea" what they will go for, which makes it more difficult when "this guy will go, that guy will go, etc.".

I think Teds Cracked Head would be the first to admit that having Bulger, S Jackson, AND the 3rd reciever (Bruce) all from the same team all go off in the SAME GAME, giving him the overall championship, is more a stroke of luck at the right time, than overall fantasy skill (of which he has a ton) Ren,
1) To quote Jules, "We Make Our Own Luck".
2) Would you have started Bruce over Branch that week? My skill in drafting Bruce and playing him won me the tourney. Bulger was hot, Jackson was being himself and I thought this game would be up and down the field all day. Lucky I was right.
3) My team was near the top of the league the whole year and I resent any thought that I lucked into the Championship. I put myself in a position to have a "good run" and it happened in weeks 14-16.
If my luck was better, I wouldn't have finished 6-7.
Has any other Champion finsihed the regular season with a losing record?
Having said that, I will say it was kind of nice to go through a complete season with a mostly healthy team. That was quite a nice change and if you consider that luck ... then I am guilty as charged.

Greg - you are a strange guy sometimes. Whenever eddie gets criticized, the greg signal goes off high in the air, and you rush to his aid. Nevermind the fact that eddie began this by criticizing ME. Now stop being eddie's mom and let him stand on his own two feet. Nothing I said was incorrect...he is a zero trick pony and a lot of his success is due to getting premium draft slots.
Now enough of this. Eddie has to accept the fact that I am Trump. LOL

Thanks for the compliments, but I have to correct you on my accomplishments. 2004 I placed 1st, 2005 was 3rd, and 2006 was 5th. I only made the Championship the first two years.

I too approach the satellites maybe a tad more freely than I would the main event which probably is the wrong approach. I tend to throw a dart or two in the satellites that I wouldn't in the Main or DC leagues. I think I do that out of curiosity, to change the pattern to see if a slightly different approach I have considered has any merit. Does that make sense?
I guess this is something I am going to have to consider before this all starts again in a few months?

Also, when we get to 5 and 6 years and longer, the rankings will become more accurate.Definitely the case. Two more years of this and we'll easily be able to separate the contenders from the pretenders!
