Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed May 23, 2007 10:21 am

Let's give it up for the return of another original member of the NFFC family as the tag team of Daren Eliason and Bill Gehring of Beulah, North Dakota will be returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas on Aug. 31-Sept. 1 for the $650 Auction League and the main event. Daren and Bill have had great success in the NFFC in the past, starting with an Auction League title in 2004, but last year was a tough one. Their DB Dawgs team finished 5-8 in Las Vegas League 7 with 1,370.55 points and their DB Auction House team was 4-9 with 1,452.7 points in the LV $650 Auction League. I trust this year will be better guys. Welcome back and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

After a one year absence from the NFFC, I'm glad to welcome back the tag team of Ryan Cosner and Anthony Mogavero of Rochester, New York to the NFFC's main event as they will be joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Ryan led his Team Cosner to a third place finish in Las Vegas League 7 in 2005, but had scheduling conflicts last year. We're glad to have him and Anthony back in 2007, however, and we wish them best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for the newest member of our growing NFFC family as Jose Segura of Houston, Texas will be joining us at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the NFFC's main event. Jose almost chose Tampa as his destination, but has chosen the Windy City instead. This is Jose's first venture into our live high-stakes event and I know he's PUMPED for this season. Welcome aboard Jose and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue May 29, 2007 4:28 am

Only one team during our first two seasons of the NFFC won back-to-back league titles in the main event or three titles in one season and we're happy to report that the dynamic duo of Kyle Pope of Shelby Township, Michigan and Derek Anderson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana will be back in 2007. Kyle and Derek will be returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas for the main event, the $1,300 Draft Champions League and the $650 Draft Champions League. The Flamingo was the scene of their first NFFC draft where they won league titles in the main event, the $650 Draft Champions League and the $650 Auction League. They also won an NFFC league title in 2005 and last year their Lumpy's Losers team won the $650 Draft Champions League and $4,250, giving them at least one title in each of our first three seasons. However, for the first time their main event team failed to win a league title as Lumpy's Losers struggled in Las Vegas League 7, finishing 4-9 and placing 212th overall with 1,503.6 points. Kyle and Derek are still among the Top 10 in our Lifetime Standings and we wish them best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $8,500 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize. I'll see you guys in Las Vegas, so be ready for some fun.

Dan Mitlof of Congers, New York earned another shot at the $100,000 grand prize this year as he turned a rough season into a great finish to earn a 2007 NFFC free entry. Dan, who has been a loyal member of our NFBC event for years, tied for the h2h title in New York League 3 as his Tungsten or Wolfram team finished 9-4, but missed the playoffs with 1,469.45 points. That was 242nd overall during the regular season, but Mitlof's team got hot in the Consolation Round to finish third overall, winning a 2007 NFFC free entry. Dan will be back at the New York Hilton for the main event and he's added a $650 Auction League team as well and will be competing on Friday, Aug. 31st as well. Congrats Dan on last season and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're glad to welcome back another returning NFFC tag team to our 2007 event as Brian Williams and Chris Borell of Clay, New York will be joining us once again at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the NFFC's main event. Brian and Chris led their Drive For Five team to a third place finish and $500 in the very competitive New York League 7 last year with an 8-5 record, placing 59th overall with 1,669.05 points. Brian and Clay will try to take the next step up with a shot in the Championship Round and we wish them best of luck this year in their pursuit of the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue May 29, 2007 9:54 am

Okay, let's make it official by welcoming back our 2004 NFFC co-champ, Mark Srebro of York, Pennsylvania to the 2007 NFFC main event. As most of you know, Mark goes under the Message Board name of Gordon Gekko and he teamed up with Jason Emma to win our initial NFFC championship and $100,000 in 2004. Last year, Jason and Mark teamed up to finish second in the $650 Las Vegas Draft Champions League as The Champions won $2,000 with 2,576.2 points. Mark also won a pair of satellite leagues to win a pair of free 2007 NFFC entries, but their Teenage Wasteland team finished 4-9 in Las Vegas League 4, placing 201st overall with 1,516.15 points in the main event. GG will draft out of New York this year as he's currently signed up for the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st.

Mark is trying to become the first multi-sport national high-stakes champion as he currently leads 374 other teams in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship, which also awards a $100,000 grand prize. He's had battles with me and others in the past, but the past is history as we gladly welcome him back to the NFFC family. Welcome back GG and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
