It seems to me you have a much greater chance of problems with players coming up injured on Thursday or Friday with 30/32 teams during the Wednesday waiver wire period. Why focus on 2/32 teams that might have a Thursday game. My thought is that you just look ahead to the schedule for the following Thursday and make sure that you are covered. It doesn't seem that complicated.
Wayne Wayne, I own Billy Cundiff all over the place, that guy got me double digits in three out of 5 weeks and 21 last week! That's "why" I would "not just drop a kicker if they are playing the following Thursday..."
C'mon Wayne, shark invested waters everywhere, I need every edge I can get, even if it is with a kicker!

Jules,
I absolutely love the idea of increasing the roster size - especially in the 14 team events!!!! A 19 man roster means that if you do have depth you can't ever keep an extra kicker or else drop a meaningful player. The current rule basically benefits those who don't draft depth.
I have Cundiff a lot also (even more so after the early waivers tonight...) and I would have no problem risking a zero in order to keep him and not have to carry 2 kickers. It's well worth the risk for me not to have to make guesses on Wednesday night waivers all season long.
