Downtown smells like an ashtray. My truck was covered in a thin coat of soot this morning.

Really incredible, any San Diegans out there with homes in the wrong places?

What is happening there is amazing. Mother nature is always in control and this time California is at her mercy.

Stay safe and if asked to leave your area, be smart and go!

We're in a good location near the water, but the number of people that are on-call for potential evacuation is staggering. Fortunately, the fires of 2003 substantially raised preparedness.

Tough job for the firefighters, working almost non-stop, and fires just overwhelming their attempts to slow them down.

Thanks KJ, very kind of you to offer. Fortunately we were allowed to go back to our home today. Man the air quality is poor though. How about where you live?
