I am a numbers guy and I assume most of you guys and girls that enjoy this hobby also enjoy the numbers.

Being a numbers guy I like to look at anomalies. And boy I found some!

Wes Welker on pace for 160 receptions! Seriously? That would be 17 more than the all-time record!

Speaking of receptions, what's with the RB receptions? 3 RB's have atleast 25 catches. Only 6 WR's can say that.

There are 7 RB's that have atleast 200 yards receiving!

7 RB's are their teams leading receiver.

Last year Arian Foster led all RB's with 604 yards receiving.
Currently 9 RB's are on pace to beat that mark!

Matt Forte and Ryan Mathews are on pace for 1,000/1,000 yard seasons and Ray Rice is 8 yards off the pace.

Dexter McCluster is leading his team in catches with 17. Sounds pretty good!

For 52 yards?!? 3.1 yards per catch. He gets 10 feet per catch?

Jason Witten is on pace for 108/1464/4
4 TD's? He must be allergic to the turf in the Cowboys endzone.
Scott Chandler is on pace for 44/388/16?
What?
I'd still take Witten anyday of the week!

Preston Parker has more catches and yards than Dez Bryant.
I know Dez has been hurt but I participated in five drafts and I NEVER heard Preston Parker announced! And I'm not ashamed to say it but I had never heard of him before week 1 of this season.

I'm sure these numbers will even out over a 16 game season but its fun to take a peek at the quarter pole.

nice stuff. they say a .300 hitter is a .300 whether he bats .150 in aprill and may. same here , it will even out with a few odd guys jumping out at you but some of these guys will fall and others ( like dez ) will rise.

Good stuff Pat!

I did 20 DC's this year and I had never heard of Preston Parker either!

Good stuff Pat. Thanks. The McCluster stat is either really funny, really sad or both.

Just seen a stat from last week that makes me uneasy...

Lance Moore on the field for 33 snaps last week.

Henderson & meachem for 62 snaps.

Yours,

Concerned Lance Moore owner.
I'm guessing it's because they utilize a number of different formations due to their WR depth. I'm not as concerned about snaps as I am involvement in the passing game. To me, that's a far more important variable to look at. Only Graham and Sproles had more targets than Moore did. He's not going anywhere. He's a key part of their passing game and Brees loves him.
I saw those snap counts too! Scared me too! Lot's of mouths to feed but I'll stick with it when they are scoring so many dang points!
Hopefully Tom is right. Maybe Moore can buy Brees something or donate to his charity!
