does he jump back into the 1st round?
Harvin: Peterson beat me twice in uphill race
Percy Harvin revealed that Adrian Peterson (ACL, MCL, meniscus surgery) beat him twice in sprints up a steep hill on Wednesday.
"He's amazing," Harvin said of Peterson. "I told him the other day I don't think he's human. Two weeks ago he beat a couple guys in a race. When I got here yesterday, I told them guys they should be embarrassed." Harvin was the one embarrassed on Wednesday. AP remains ahead of schedule in his rehab, and we're beginning to buy that he'll be ready for Opening Day. He's a freak.

If your out running a speedster like Harvin 5 months after major surgery like that how can you pass that up late round 1? Pretty tough ...

Toughest call of the year in my opinion. It reminds me of Maurice Jones-Drew last season. MJD was coming off a bad knee injury that many thought would be chronic. Despite being a proven fantasy stud and pronouncing himself completely healthy in the preseason he had an ADP of 14.85 in the NFFC. He was pretty much locked in as an early second-round pick.
In my top league I had the 6th pick and really wanted Rodgers there but I knew he wouldn't get past the guy picking fifth because he had Rodgers the year before. If I had played the ADP I never would've considered MJD there but I was hearing a lot of positive things about him coming out of Jacksonville and there was no denying his upside if he indeed was healthy. I pulled the trigger and MJD went on to have a fantastic season despite playing for the Jags.
If Peterson's healthy and reports are positive and you're picking in the middle of the first or toward the back end of the round I think it's going to be very tough to pass on him. There's obviously huge risk involved since RBs almost never return to prominence in the first year back from an ACL injury. But this is a guy with RB1 upside. It's pretty much unheard of to get that type of value in the first round. I'm typically risk-averse in the first round but I wasn't last season with MJD and it paid off big. I could see myself looking at Peterson in similar fashion as things move along.

I don't think this is even comparable.
Peterson tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus LATE in the season......and the time they occurred is the only comparison IMO. Plus there weren't many "positive" signs about MJD last year. I realize everyone talks about how "in great shape they are" this time of year (sans Chris Cooley!
), but to be beating Harvin in a race 5 months later????
I do agree he will be the toughest call in the draft.

I think it's comparable in terms of having a proven fantasy stud coming off a serious injury whose value was dropping in drafts as a result. MJD's injury was clearly causing his value to drop, same as Peterson this season. MJD's injury was also thought to be chronic which meant that even if he was "healthy," there was a fear he could worsen his knee at any time. His health was a major red flag, just like Peterson's. There weren't many people who were targeting him early in drafts but in retrospect he clearly should have been there. Will Peterson follow suit? It's too soon to say but I do think that, like MJD, if he's sitting there in the middle of the first round and reports continue to be positive he's going to be very difficult to pass on.

No, I wouldn't touch him til at least the 2nd round. The Vikings are going to play it safe with him to start the season. It will be interesting to see where his backup goes...

Your forgetting rule #2 in Fantasy Football..... Don't listen to what a coach/player says...... Also the quote said "revealed". When ever "revealed" is used, its an educated guess by the interviewer by what things the player had said. I'm not buying it.
Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum says Chaz Schilens could catch 100 balls this year... hes still not in my top 200.... exaggerating is far to common. You won't find AP on my roster this year. Not for the price hes going at.....
