NFFC Cutline FAAB To Include Thursday Players

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Oct 02, 2013 7:47 am

The second chance to pick up players in the debut NFFC Cutline Championship is on Friday, October 11th before Week 6. The final FAAB pickup in the NFFC Cutline Championship is before Week 9 on Friday, November 1st. Both FAAB periods will now include players to be picked up and cut from the Thursday game of that week.

But here's one item all owners must know about dealing with the Thursday players: For all Friday FAAB periods for NFFC Cutline leagues, all Thursday players from the day before will be available to add or to drop (regardless of being in active lineup or bench). If any Free Agent bid includes a Thursday player as the add OR the drop, that move goes into effect for the following week. So, even if a user drops a bench player that played Thursday and adds a player that has not played yet, that new player cannot be used until the following week. Please understand that because that is very important.

So in the case of next week's FAAB, you can cut or pick up any New York Giant or Chicago Bear but that move goes into effect the following week. Nobody from that pickup would be allowed to be activated in Week 6. The same goes in Week 9 when Cincinnati and Miami play.

We are happy to have FAAB set up now to include all Thursday players, but please understand how it works. If you have any questions about this process, please ask them here or contact me at [email protected]. With only three FAAB pickups per year in this contest, they are about building a winning roster for the season AND for the Championship Round. The current setup now includes all players from each week and allows you to cut and pick up who you want for the future. Good luck all.

I don't have CJ on any teams and wanted no part of him at his ADP but his usage is baffling. If they don't trust him near the goal line, that's one thing but to not use him at all in the passing game? That's astonishing. Why wouldn't you want to get the ball in space to a player who excels in the open field? I'm always baffled by coaches who refuse to use players intelligently. I'm not saying 3-4 receptions a game will ease the pain of Chris Johnson owners but how can anyone argue that would hurt the Tennessee offense if it was implemented?

I've long said that NFL coaches far too often make this game more difficult than it needs to be. It's by far my biggest pet peeve with NFL coaching. I've never been an NFL head coach and never will be but I know enough to devise a game plan which gives the ball to Ray Rice (for example) more than five times a game. John Harbaugh has more Super Bowl rings than I'll ever have but that was flat-out ignorant.

So it's Friday F/A where a Thursday player on your bench gets dropped and his Sunday/Monday replacement cannot be played that Sunday or Monday thus allowing you to use 25 players . However your Thursday player that's in your lineup can be dropped allowing you to use 26 players .

Wednesday F/A

I'm baffled too.

I guess difficult is better than simple at times.

Greg -

I believe I am reading this right, but let me know anyway. Basically, we can waive any Giant or Bear players on Friday (next week), even if we had them in our lineup on Thursday. Is that right?

Also, not matter if we had a Bear or Giant in our lineup on Thursday, whomever we pick up is not eligible to be used until week 7 as a starter. Correct?

So if we start or have say Cutler in our lineup or on our bench Thursday and waive him on Friday, the player we pick up Friday has to ride the bench for one week... Correct?

Thanks,

Pete
