One carry up the middle and off he comes.

Back to old man F-Jax.

It would be nice if they could run some plays for his skill set to get him in space.

No reason why Spiller shouldnt catch 60-70 balls like New Orleans backs.

Im not buying the preseason vanilla excuse either.

This is exactly what their garbage offense looked like last year.

Amazing how some of these guys coach at the highest level in football.

You have to remember it's the Hall of Fame game so no starters play much. I wouldn't discern anything from it. I will say that the Bills are not very impressed with Spiller. He wont be a Bill next year. Fred Jackson simply outplays Spiller and knows how to hit the hole. It does not look like Spiller will ever become much more than a change of pace guy. Spiller has lots of speed but isn't a good receiving back. I do agree Marrone could be more creative with Spiller but he probably should only get 15 or so touches a game. He is like Sproles without the good hands. Buffalo tried to trade up and obtain Carlos Hyde in the draft. What does that tell you.

I'd be less inclined to draw any conclusions here if we weren't seeing an almost identical form of usage to what we saw last season. But we did. Consider:

1. Spiller's only carry was between the tackles.
2. Spiller was clearly behind Jackson in the RB pecking order.
3. As soon as Buffalo was in the Red Zone, out came Spiller and in came Jackson.

This is what we saw last season.

Conclusion: Don't draft CJ Spiller.
