Thanks To All Of The Las Vegas Drafters

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Sep 09, 2014 2:02 pm

I just want to thank everyone who participated in our live drafts at the Bellagio in Las Vegas over the last two weekends. Everyone was on time, ready to draft, courteous, prepared and excited this season. You made our jobs so much easier this season.

I think it was our best season ever for the live drafts. The technology improved from last year and adding the auction software really helped the live auctions become more efficient and easier for everyone. We easily cut 45 minutes or more out of the auctions thanks to this software. In fact, the 14-Team Super Auction league got done in less than 3 hours and we had one 12-team Auction on the Second Weekend finish in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It also kept the other live events moving well. Heck, we had one Las Vegas Primetime finish in 1 hour and 15 minutes. We told those owners to enjoy the time together, but everyone was prepared and doing it electronically just allowed us to keep up with the picks. Even the Classics got done in less than 2 hours for the most part.

We pushed the resolution of the draft boards on the last day in Las Vegas and they really stood out as we got all 20 rounds on one screen. I think we have this part figured out now and with a slight upgrade to the projectors we'll really have this part down pat.

Thanks again to everyone who drafted live with us in all three cities, but a special thanks from me to all of the Las Vegas drafters. We may have more live drafts in the Executive Penthouse suite in the future as that really worked well for leagues of 12 teams or less (phone drafts). That boardroom is just sweet, and setting up the projector screen in the living room allows for drafters to spread out if they want. Pretty cool setup up there.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for the live drafts, let us know. We're always looking to improve the setup, but we sure love the Bellagio. The staff is so good to us and the food is as good as it gets. The Corona's aren't too bad, either!! ;)

Thanks all and good luck the rest of the season.

Great job guys, so professional and well run. See everyone next season with a few more of my friends. When they saw the pics and heard the stories, everyone I know wants to come out next year.

had a blast and THE ICONS number one in primetime and if I just puts steve smith instead of Bernard pierce id be first in the classic as well. I knew I shouldn't trust that guy.
