Okay, Tom and I have a few minutes to look at this year's draft results, so I'll throw out some fun facts from Draft Day. Enjoy:
1) LaDainian Tomlinson and Steven Jackson went 1-2 in all 26 main event leagues. They also went 1-2 in every Draft Champions League and the Ultimate League.
2) In the 26 main event leagues, LJ went third 11 times, followed by Joseph Addai third 7 times and Frank Gore 6 times. Peyton Manning went third once and Reggie Bush went third once. In the Draft Champions and Ultimate Leagues, LJ went third four times, Addai twice and Gore once.
3) Peyton Manning went in the first round in 11 of 26 main event leagues and in one of the Draft Champions Leagues.
4) In the first round, two leagues had all 14 picks as running backs. Ten leagues had 13 RBs out of their first 14 picks, 13 leagues had 12 RBs chosen in the first round, and two leagues had 11 picks as RBs in the first round.
5) A new NFFC Auction League record was set when LaDainian Tomlinson went for $87 in the Las Vegas-Tampa auction. He went for $85 in the Las Vegas $1,300 league. He went for $79, $77 and $77 in three other leagues.
6) The biggest movers in the last week seemed to be Jacoby Jones and James Jones, with Selvyn Young of Denver becoming the most favorable "write in" candidate.
I'll look for more juicy facts and figures tomorrow, but this is a good starting point for a conversation!!

Wow, so I guess I'm a little LUCKY getting Steven Jackson at # 3 in an online league yesterday?
Maybe I'm even MORE lucky landing Steve Smith at 2.10... Hope I didn't screw it up...

Sorry Greg, not an NFFC story, but a funny draft story nonetheless.
In an online Jungle draft last night I was picking 4th ... Steve Smith went with the second pick of round 2. But as my second round pick at 2.09 was approaching, I noticed he was still in my queue ... the guy drafted the Giants Steve Smith at 2.02
, leaving the Panther's Steve Smith. When I saw it, I tried to get the commish to pause the draft. He finally did, and I pointed it out expecting him to make the switch. But, he said that players are resonsible for their picks, as stated in the rules, and that he could not switch Smiths per the rules; at which point I picked the Panther's Steve Smith late in round two.
The big advantage though, really was to the guy picking next who pulled MJD at 2.10 (who I would've taken) who was a big step up from the remaining available players, whereas MJD vs Smith still was a close call for me.

What a HORRIBLE decision to not allow a reversal of Steve Smith CAR for NYG...horrible and not in the spirit of the game.

~Lance It's actually not a horrible decision and you know nothing about the situation. When you pick the player, our system then asks you to confirm it, so you have 2 chances to make sure you pick the correct player, in the event you were to select the wrong one, so there's really no excuse to pick the wrong player. But even though that was the case, we still would have corrected it if it was brought to our attention right after the fact as we could have paused the draft, however it wasn't brought up until 7 picks later nor was it even brought up by the person who made the wrong selection.
And with that being said, being the nice guys we are, we gave this person a free entry to our Wed draft because just as everyone else says and we agree, it was an unfortunate situation for the customer and we don't want him to feel cheated out of his money, so we ate $500 and are giving him another shot on us, as well as he still gets to keep his S Smith NYG team. If he can find an 06 Colston, it could balance the mistake out, you never know.
Sorry to hijack your thread Greg, but I wanted to set the story straight for those talking about it who dont have the facts.

It is absolutely horrible. It destroys the integrity of the league. This is not only horrible it is illogical. Logic should always prevail over angle shooting. You have no reason to suspect the owner wanted to pick SS of NY. No one would be harmed by correcting the mistake. Instead you decide to make the league a mockery. I really get upset when I see illogical decisions made because "the rules say". Lou Holtz used to say he only had one rule, "the do-right rule". Just do the right thing.

I really get upset when I see illogical decisions made because "the rules say". Lou Holtz used to say he only had one rule, "the do-right rule". Just do the right thing. It doesn't make the league a mockery, it lessens one team and its unfortunate, but it's a hard spot for us because we have multiple leagues running at once so we do our best to monitor what we can, which is why we have a pick confirmation window to make sure that person selects the correct player. If we rescinded the pick, there would be complaints from people saying picks should be final and it should stand. It's a no win for us as people are going to be upset about both sides of whatever decision was made. That's part of the heat of running a business and we will take it, but to hear people who don't even know us, the situation, or play in the contest sit here and make comments about being illogical and horrible is laughable. And as far as doing the right thing, we think we did so by taking care of the customer who more than likely has a dead team from the incorrect SS pick.
