SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jul 14, 2015 7:57 am

The most unique league we have is back for a fourth season in the NFFC as we introduce the NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League. This is a Draft Champions format with 12 teams and 26 rounds (we agreed last year to reduce from 30 to 26 rounds). Cost is $1,000 and we pay the Top 3 finishers just like any other DC league. Here's the prize grid for this league:

http://nffc.stats.com/football/leagues/ ... idiron.asp

However, the unique twist to this league is that owners bid for their draft spots in the first round using real money. Let's say the first pick goes for $700. The owner then makes his selection and we open the second bid for auction. This continues through the first 12 picks and then we open the bidding once again for the second round picks. The pick you win in the second round is the pick you get for the rest of the league. So whoever wins the bidding for pick 12 (which is the first one offered in the second round), has the 12th pick the rest of the way. That is a highly desireable pick by the way because that owner gets the first pick in Rounds 2 and 3.

The good news is that all of the money generated in the auctions for the picks in Rounds 2 and 3 is distributed to each of the 16 weekly highest scoring teams. So if $16,000 is generated by the auctions, each weekly winner will win $1,000 on top of what they could earn in the overall prize pool. It's a great setup and one loved by our participants.

The draft is also held in the Bellagio Penthouse Suite that we'll also watch the Thursday Night NFL Opener in, so it should be a lot of fun. Come and join the fun.

Okay, we still have openings in the NFFC Gridiron DC League. Sign up online or contact me at [email protected] to get in the fun. No payment needed until we fill the league and KJ will hold onto the auction money and pay out those winners. Who's up for this challenge?

3+ Spots Left In NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League

Post by kjduke » Sun Aug 16, 2015 5:42 pm

Three more spots (or 5 if we can get to 14 teams).

Why join?

PROS
• Most exciting first two rounds of any fantasy football draft you'll do all year
• Free drinks, snacks and power for your iStuff
• Watch the season opener right after the draft
• Get a big check in-season each time you have a kick-ass week
• One of highest payout percentage leagues in high stakes FF
• ER specialist in the room in case anyone chokes on their club sandwich or has a heart attack
• Hang out with a bunch of long-time high stakes players plus Greg and Tom !

CONS
• Must catch an early flight into Vegas on Thursday (or live there)
• You might (probably) will lose to a girl :P
• 50/50 Greg spills a Corona on you

The Pros clearly have the edge! Less than 4 weeks to go, let's get another 5 players, or at least 3.

KJ, there is an owner who did very well in this league last year who is on your West team in the 3-City DC who doesn't have travel costs because he lives in Vegas and who loves this DC format who hasn't signed up yet. He has this different spelling of Bryan to his name, too. You might want to give him a friendly phone call because he still has a lot of people's money from last season!! 8-)

That would be 10 and then the last two spots are easy!!! This is the best format around. Bid for the draft spots you want, draft a good team and be done with it for the rest of the season. Who wants into this one?
