Is it time to be concerned about the NFFC?

I rarely post here, and think the world of Tom and Greg, but their long silence on the upcoming NFFC season is concerning me at this point. We have all seen the new fantasy legislation that has been passed by a few states and being considered by others, and now the fear arises that there may not be an on-line fantasy season after July 1st (at least in those states that have passed new legislation already or the near future). Perhaps, the days of online season-long fantasy football is coming to an end, when one considers the extraordinarily high "registration fees" being required by each state in the current and pending legislation. Whatever the case, I would hope Greg & Tom will quickly address these issues that will allow us to make other plans to either attend legal live drafts, or to switch to other venues/on-line sites.

my understanding is they need tech to help fix a few minor things for nfbc now that the season has started and then they will turn their attention to NFFC. Its later than usual yes...but I am not concerned personally.

I was wondering the same thing Hooligans. I know they read the boards and it's not like them to completely ignore everyone here for this long of time unless something is up. Other companies are running drafts. I think I've done 6 already. But the difference here is that the NFFC offers a large overall prize as opposed to just league prizes so it's probably a lot more difficult for them to commit this early not knowing the landscape of the laws being passed. Being from Indiana I'm worried that my fantasy football days are over.
At first when we weren't hearing anything back I thought they were just busy with baseball. Now I'm guessing that there is not a good way to respond so rather than saying the wrong thing they just aren't saying anything until they know more. I wouldn't be surprised if the drafts weren't delayed for quite a while.

The silence is the strangest thing about it. I do look at the other FF sites and see leagues with my price entry point and openings dwindling. I love everything about the NFFC... I would love for some clarity on the subject though. For online and Live events purposes.

No it isn't. We simply haven't provided an update because, unfortunately there isn't one to provide. The site isn't ready to go live. That's the update. It has nothing to do with what's going on with DFS. In fact I have space secured in New York and Greg has space secured in Vegas so both locations are ready to go. It's all about getting the site ready to launch. Unfortunately we are behind schedule. Once we are told the site will be ready to go live we'll let everyone know. That's a promise.
But yes the NFFC will be around for 2016. That's also a promise. There is no reason to be concerned about us. You guys worry way too much.

We shouldn't have just said nothing. That's on us and I apologize for that. Unfortunately the last eight weeks, and the last two in particular, have been so hectic with the NFBC that Greg and I have been so busy that has been our primary focus. We haven't lost sight of the NFFC and we have been pushing to get the site live. But unfortunately it didn't go live in early March as we had hoped. We didn't know when it would so we didn't want to put any potential timelines out there that couldn't be met since that would only raise hopes and leave all of you disappointed and potentially upset with us which we didn't want. But we shouldn't have just gone dark like we did and I do apologize for that. We have a meeting with our tech people this morning and hopefully we'll get some answers about when we can go live. No promises on that but hopefully we'll have some and I do promise that as soon as we do we'll let everyone know. Trust me we want the site to go live and we especially want to get you guys drafting and get signups going.

Thanks for response Tom, but my WCOFF experience still haunts me, and we too were continually comforted with words, then the bottom fell out. For planning purposes, I must make my commitments earlier than most, so I do hope things are running soon, or I will have to consider other options. I hope everything goes great for NFFC, but I will NEVER get caught in a WCOFF whirlwind again, if I can help it.

Tom,
Has any consideration ever been given to maybe bringing on someone to work for the NFFC for 3 months (Feb-Apr) while you and Greg are busy with baseball? I LOVE the NFFC, but it just seems you are the last one to the party every year.
I totally understand that you are the only contest with baseball, but the toll it takes on football can't be overlooked.
