Aaron Rodgers

I'm not one to typically take a QB too early. However in a couple early drafts this year, I've come away with some of the higher ranked QB's when they've fallen to a point where they just looked too good against some of the second tier RB's or receivers. I've still never taken one in the first round, ever (outside of a 2-QB format).

That brings me to the point of this topic, Aaron Rodgers. He's pretty much a sure thing, he has the potential to give you one of those special years, and could give you as much of an edge over the rest of the competition as any RB or WR available in the field.

I was just "awarded" the 7th pick in the DC championships. I'm considering several players there. My imagination though is starting to drift towards Rodgers.

I'm just curious if anyone has an opinion about taking a QB that early in this scoring system.

Although I am one to lean against it, I will say with the NFFC rewarding QB's more than the other two big events it can make sense. One of my best WCOFF runs was when I took Dante C long before any QB's were ever taken in that RB/RB/WR day. He had a magical year as did I. That being said I tried to replicate that strategy in the following year only to be wrong and when you start with a QB in Round 1 and misfire, your team will have gaping holes all around to which you will be hard pressed to recover especially over here in a 14 team format.

It's an all in boom bust strategy but I will admit Rogers this year reminds me of DC and Tom Brady in their surreal years...

glenn, IF, and a big IF, 50 TD's and 5000 yds. what's that? 550 pts. if you knew he was going to do that, why wouldn't you take him #1 overall? ;)

Rodgers is a legitimate 1st Rd pick in this scoring system. I don't know if I would take him at 7, but I might at 8 or 9.

Glenn,

Hope this helps. A.Rodgers will not finish as the Top QB.

Good Luck,
