We are very happy to report that the NFFC will offer online auction leagues this season on our new site. In fact, we tested the new auction software today and it's very, very slick. We are excited to finally have our own online auction software for all sports and can't wait to get these rolling.

The software is very easy to use for bidding and there isn't a +$1 button to trap you into getting a player at an elevated price. The bid button shows you the actual dollar amount that you are bidding for that player. We also have a new feature that will allow you to set a max bid on any player. You can do that when the player is nominated or you can do that in advance in your Queue. It's very slick and I'm not sure that anyone else has this feature in the industry.

Anyway, we will have more details on this soon, but look for some NFFC $150 12-team Satellite leagues to be offered as online auctions this year, and we may even expand beyond that. We can do FAAB leagues and Draft Champions Leagues in the auction format. We can even talk about the price range in order to get more people to try out the online auction software. Let's have some fun with this.

This will be the same software we will use for baseball in 2019 and we'll eventually expand into basketball. There are lots of possibilities here.

Thanks to Andy Saxton, Todd Zola and so many others for hosting these online auction leagues through the years and then helping us load the results on our site. Now it's time to take the next step and just do everything here. We can't wait to get started.

They will be live auctions, not a “slow draft” auction.

We did additional testing last week and we are close. We don't want to put a start date on this because we still have some final tweaks to the auction room, but we are real close. June for sure, early June hopefully.

We did another set of testing yesterday in which the online auction league is set up as a Draft Champions league. The auction converts to an auction at 2 hours per pick shortly after the auction ends after Round 20 and will have the same night time pause of the clock. This worked very well. So now the software is able to run a 12-team, 20 round auction with FAAB and a 12-team, 20 round auction that is followed by 15 rounds of a draft. Very cool.

We are getting closer to finalizing the online auction software, but give us a little time to work this all out. This should be fun and the same software will be available for baseball in November. Can't wait.

This is great news. Once you guys are confident the auction room is ready to go, count me in.
