Did Gekko REALLY "dominate"?

Gekko stated that he DOMINATED the competition. Well, domination is when a team CLEARLY has control the WHOLE way (ala the Steelers DOMINATING the Patriots and Eagles! :D )

Interesting fact here, in overall points from Weeks 1-16;

Team NEW - 2437.60
Teenage Wasteland - 2414.30

Add this to Gekko's NUMEROUS posts about his team "not having good matchups", "him doubting his own WR's", "saying he just hopes he stayed in the top 8", etc., and it is clear that "J squared" shouldn't be BRAGGING about how they DOMINATED. When in reality, they just scored the points when they counted!

Congratulations on winning guys, but PLEASE don't talk how you DOMINATED. You WHINED and WHINED for WEEKS that the "people drafting near the top had a CLEAR advantage, then it turned out that more people who made the playoffs had picked in the LOWER half of their drafts.

I'm just not a fan of people "doubting" their team most of the way, and then proclaiming "they had it all along"!

Enjoy spending all that cash! :D

"we lead our league by over 100pts, and then dominated the playoffs like no other team will ever do. 190pt average in the playoffs." sounds pretty dominating to me.

Looking back at the numbers, this was really a text-book definition of “domination”. we lead our league by over 100pts, and then dominated the playoffs like no other team will ever do. 190pt average in the playoffs. The NFFC fielded the best fantasy owners (Gekko & company) in the world this year. looking at our team and the wcoff champion, it’s kinda funny, cause we’d sink his battleship. not even close. some may say they have a paper champion. I’ll leave that to the fantasy pundits…

Your first statement about "I bet on "sure things" insinuates that you "knew along" that Muhsin Muhammed was going to be a top 5 WR. If that is so, WHY did you take Steve Smith (in probably the 3rd round) in TWO other leagues (that I know of), and not WAIT to take Muhammed about 4-5 rounds later? Bottom line: I think your smart enough to realize that if Smith isn't out for the season, Muhammed doesn't come near those numbers? Congratulations on picking him up, but don't act like you knew he was a "sure thing"! Kind of goes for Kennison too! They were both "stabs in the dark", but in NO WAY were they "sure things"!

To win a contest like this Gekko, WE ALL (yes, you included) need some luck, and you got. Again, not trying to "**** on your parade" as it is greatyou won the $$, but don't come on here saying all your picks were "sure things"!

I guess all this isn't true either, heh Gekko?

Muhammed was still a great play where we got him. Actually, take away EVERY TD that he scored this year, and we still lead our league in pts, and win the 100K. How's that one?

I say they were great picks where we goth them

We were fortunate enough to win the 100K. Guess, I'll go with what I say. Maybe it's possible that you need to tweak your projections next time around?

Thank you for admitting you were FORTUNATE! I also thought Muhammed would be a good pick, and UNFORTUNATELY (for me) he went before I wanted to take him. For the record, I wanted nothing to do with Steve Smith and saw him VERY overvalued. Of course, I couldn't predict his season ending injury.

My projections were pretty much where I thought they would be, as my biggest mistake was Koren Robinson. I won my league (5K), but UNFORTUNATELY my team didn't get hot when it counted.

Gordon, I'm not trying to take anything away from you, but using the word "DOMINATED" in the playoffs is a bit much! DOMINATED would be leading the playoffs from weeks 14-16. I believe your were in 5th place going into week 16. Your team put up a MONSTER week in week 16 (the last week of the contest), and you even said that you just hoped to finish in the top 8 going into Week 16!

Congratulations again Gecko, your players got hot when they needed to!

BillyWaz showing the entire NFFC the same dose of sour grapes the NY6ers were treated to all season.

You've hit the rare same-season sore winner/sore loser exacta.

You've hit the rare same-season sore winner/sore loser exacta. Not "sour grapes" here ICojones, as my team took a vacation during these 3 weeks, and I NEVER had a prayer. Just don't like it when people brag about how great they are AFTER they win it, when they have been saying in numerous posts that they weren't sure if they could compete.

As for NY6, all I wanted is your team to acknowledge that your favorable schedule was the only reason you were in it (up till Week 10 or so that is! ;) )

As for me hitting the "sore winner/sore loser exacta" PLEASE show me a post where I stated HOW GREAT I WAS? I said from about Week 5 that JFT was getting screwed more than anyone, and he deserved to be league champ. How exactly is that me being a "sore winner"?

Looks like someone else is a little "bitter", and maybe realizes they could have spent their $1,250 a little wiser?

Maybe there is a "Parchesi tournament" you guys can enter next year? ;)

[/QUOTE]What claim? That you yourself said you had a "weakness at WR that would probably hold you back from winning it all?" (or something very similar). All I am trying to say is that YOU weren't even that confident in your team a few weeks ago, but now you "DOMINATED"?

Yes Gordon, your numbers were good enough to win it, and NO ONE can deny that, but the claim that you KNEW your players were going to win it all for you is B-U-N-K!

Teenage Wasteland 715.34
Pocket Aces 501.55

best we move away from this topic. turning unproductive now...
