NFFC Sack Cancer Leagues To Raise Funds For V Foundation
Posted: Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:00 am
For the second straight year, the NFFC is partnering with the V Foundation to raise funds for a special cause. And were doing it FIVE TIMES better than we did last year when we raised over $15,000.
How can we do it FIVE TIMES BETTER? Well, last year we had actor James Roday and WWE champion Mike "The Miz" team up for one team in the NFFC Primetime and all of their winnings would go to the V Foundation. They also agreed to pay $1,000 per team that finished ahead of them in their league standings. While they didn't win the $200,000 grand prize -- they finished 4th in their league and just missed the Championship Round -- through their contributions and the contributions of other NFFC players and the NFFC we did raise over $15,000.
Some of that was helped by the fact that one anonymous NFFC owner agreed to match every penny James and the Miz won up to $200,000 and that donor matched their $3,000 contribution. That's how great the NFFC community is.
So let's do it again and do it even better in 2021. But how do we do that?
Well, first of all we are going from one team that will donate all of its winnings to the V Foundation to FIVE TEAMS. That's right, we have this super hero lineup, with each celebrity donating all of their winnings -- including the $200,000 grand prize -- to the V Foundation:
James Roday - the star of the TV series Psych for 8 seasons, he's now the star of ABC's A Million Little Things
Mike "The Miz" - the two-time WWE heavyweight champion, he's also the star of "Miz & Mrs." reality show
Kofi Kingston - 14-time WWE Tag Team Champion and former WWE heavyweight champion
Michael Fabiano - fantasy football writer for almost 30 years, he's now with SportsIllustrated.com after 16 years at the NFL Network
Anonymous Drafter - We have one anonymous drafter who will also donate all winnings to the V Foundation
We will post draft dates and times for The Fantastic Four + One soon. Look for those dates soon.
All we are asking is that anyone who joins these leagues please make a monetary donation -- and it can be any size, but the bigger the better -- to Connor's Cure of the V Foundation. Here's the Donate link:

We are calling these leagues The CANCER SUCKS League because we all know Cancer does suck and we want to beat it. We're going to do that by winning in fantasy football and donating as a community of good people. First 11 new signups for each designated league will form that league (we will not allow any TBDs to be changed to this league; they must be new signups at the full price).
We are talking with SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio now about possibly broadcasting a couple of these leagues live on the air and having the celebrities on the air as well. In fact, James Roday will be on our High Stakes Fantasy Advantage show this Wednesday at 11:30 pm ET to talk about these leagues. Should be fun.
While this league is raising money for Connor's Cure -- a partnership between the V Foundation and WWE that raises awareness and funds to support pediatric cancer research -- we are hopeful that everyone in the NFFC contributes something to the cause. There is a DONATE button on that page and we'll add it on other NFFC pages soon. Not only that, but we are going to spread the word about this league throughout the fantasy football industry and hope the entire industry can back this cause. As James has said, it's time to shine a light on something good after a dark past year. Let's do this.
As you can see from the video, Mike, James and Kofi are ALL IN for this cause and so is Fabs. They are all long-time fantasy players and James has been with us for about 16 years. They have every intention of dominating this league and the overall competition as well. I can't tell you how great they've been through all of this. And with The Miz having 3.3 million Twitter followers and all four of them having over 6 million Twitter followers combined, well, I think we can create some buzz about the NFFC, about the V Foundation and about our industry in general, especially if we support a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.
We also have the WWE supporting us and the V Foundation. They have supported this idea right from the start.
So there we go. Let's fill up these special, unique and high-profile leagues, donate to the V Foundation whether you're in them or not, and then get the smack talk rolling. We'll keep these leagues high-profile throughout the season as well and add some smack talk videos from time to time. Let's make this fun and still raise money for a good cause.
Thanks all and enjoy. Now, let's see if any of these celebrities can win the $200,000 grand prize and donate it to charity. Here we go.
