Win $15,000 In Each 2022 NFFC Classic League

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Apr 21, 2022 9:58 am

The NFFC Classic is our signature event as we launched in 2004 with the industry's only 14-team national championship. It remains the industry's only 14-team national championship and during our first 18 years we have had 18 different national champions. That should tell you how tough this format really is.

Since 2004, we have had grand prizes that ranged from $100,000 to $50,000, with the majority of our title holders winning $100,000. We reached a high of 364 teams in 2007 and reached a low of 182 teams in 2021. The growth of the 12-Team NFFC Primetime and Rotowire Online Championship have been fantastic over the last 12 years, but they've also cut into the popularity of the 14-Team NFFC Classic and so changes were inevitable.

And those changes are being made in 2022.

This year the NFFC Classic will feature private leagues where all of the prize money stays within the league. The cost of entry will be $2,000 per team and we'll pay the Top 3 teams, including a nice $15,000 prize to the top team. Each league runner-up will earn $5,000 and each third place finisher will earn $3,000. We are expecting 5-7 leagues this year and hope the big league payouts will keep our veterans who love this 14-team format coming back for the same, tough competition that now pays much more within the league.

We'll continue to host the Championship Round and crown a 19th straight overall champion, but the only prize in the Championship Round will be for the overall champion. Our Classic champion will earn a FREE 2023 NFFC Classic entry valued at $2,000 and the distinction of winning the NFFC Classic overall title. This is similar to how we ran the Classic in 2020 during the Covic-19 season.

We have had many great Classic champions through the years, but even many of these champions now compete in other formats rather than our 14-team format. The change was inevitable after the numbers dropped over the last 4-5 years, but we still want to keep the 14-Team format alive and we hope that there's enough Classic die-hards around to still see value in a nice $15,000 league prize for beating 13 other competitors. And we'd love to keep the overall competition going for years to come and continue to add to our champions list.

Here's a list of all our NFFC Classic overall champions since 2004:
