82 NFFC Primetime League Champions Crowned In 2022

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:15 am

It was another record-breaking year in the NFFC in 2022 as we finished with an all-time high of 82 leagues and 984 teams. That was up by 14 leagues and 168 teams from our previous high in 2021. In the last two years, the NFFC Primetime has grown by 29 leagues and 348 teams!! Thanks everyone and let's keep the growth going in 2023 and give out even more prize money!!

Jason Sumner of Raleigh, North Carolina won our record $250,000 grand prize as he beat a field of 247 teams in the NFFC Primetime's Championship Round. He became the 14th different Primetime champion in our 15-year history as only NFFC Hall of Famer Chad Schroeder has won this title twice. Jason had never competed in the NFFC Primetime before this year, but he said he got motivation to do high-dollar FAAB leagues this summer after watching our YouTube channel interviews with past champions like Chad Schroeder, Chris Eibl and Chris Vaccaro. That motivated him to compete against the best and he rose to the challenge and won the record $250,000 grand prize. He said he's coming back to try and win another overall title this year.

While Jason won this national title, he didn't even win his league title. He finished second in the Sept. 10th, 10 pm ET Primetime Online league and qualified for the Championship Round in 145th place. But he quickly moved up to fourth place during the first round of the Championship Round before falling to 15th place after Week 16. His team then scored 187.60 points in Week 17 to win the title. Great job Jason.

While Jason didn't win his first Primetime league title yet, he will take the overall title for sure. Of the 82 leagues we hosted this year, 28 different owners won their first Primetime league titles. Last year we had 21 first-time Primetime league champions and in 2020 we had 19 first-time Primetime league champions, so it's great to see so many new players joining this contest and excelling. That always bodes well for the future of this 12-team contest.

We had a lot of owners who had great seasons in 2022, but we must highlight NFFC Hall of Famer Chad Schroeder first and foremost. He had an incredible regular season as he won 8 more Primetime league titles, giving him a record 29 Primetime league titles in his career. It didn't work out for him as well in the Championship Round, but the 8 league titles in one year is definitely a record as he again had a big season. He has now won 15 NFFC Primetime league titles over the last two seasons and continues to be the NFFC Career Earnings Leader with over $1.8 million in winnings. Wow.

NFFC Hall of Famer Mike Santos won one more NFFC Primetime league title this year and now has 13 league titles, second only to fellow NFFC Hall of Famer Chad Schroeder. Kimra Schleicher also won one Primetime league title this year and is alone in third place with 12 league titles. Clark Olson also won one Primetime league title and is now tied for fourth place all-time with Glenn Schroter with 11 league titles.

Scott Keikoan was the only other owner outside of Chad to win more than two NFFC Primetime League titles as he went on to win three Primetime league titles this year. He entered five NFFC Primetime leagues this year and made the Championship Round in four of those leagues. The following owners each won two NFFC league titles in 2022: Patrick Gallagher, Todd Schoenfeld, Chris Eibl, John Pierce, Mark Fierer, Robert Rappleye, Mark Palmer, John Rozek, Nelson Sousa and Tejas Bodiwala. Great job guys.

Winning Primetime league titles for the first time included these 28 owners: Mark Fierer, Kurt Watkins, Bill Weinberg, Jeff Pretzer, Robert Rappleye, Anthony Lange, Jeff Erickson, David Feinberg, Seth Kahler, Mike Kuzma, Will Hobbs, Tony Albertino, Tejas Bodiwala, Todd Schoenfeld, Kenny Stratton, Justin Kimbrough, James Tracy, Frank Legacy, Chris Corcoran, Rashad Cobb, Scott Jenstad, Matthew Korn, Kyle Brinkmann, Ritch Williams, Oliver Dawoud, Timothy Taieb, Eric Jensen and Ian Hubbard. That's an impressive list of first-time league champs, so congrats to all.

Congrats to all of our first-time and multiple time NFFC Primetime champions from this season. The future is bright for this contest as every league title was hotly contested and so many great players are competing in this contest. We can't wait to start the 2023 NFFC season.

Re: 82 NFFC Primetime League Champions Crowned In 2022

Here's the NFFC Primetime league champions and where they drafted from in 2022. There were 82 leagues and every draft spot had at least two league champions. Even though we use Third Round Reversal in the NFFC, the top half still produced the most league champions as 52 league champions came from spots 1 through 6, while 30 came from spots 7 through 12. Pick 6 led the way with 13 league champions, while pick 1 had 11 league champions. Picks 4, 8 and 11 each had nine league champions. The toughest spots seemed to be picks 9 and 12 as each spot yielded just two league champions from those spots.

Here's a look at where each NFFC Primetime league champion drafted from:
