Neal Compton Wins 2023 NFFC Post-Season & $150,000

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:50 am

Neal Compton of Benicia, California won the 2023 NFFC Post-Season Contest and the record $150,000 grand prize as he defeated a record field of 1,757 teams. Neal rode the combination of Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts at 4x along with Travis Kelce and Devonta Smith at 3x to win the title with 1,372.15 points. He finished 2.10 points ahead of Mark Monzones for the top prize with Todd Cohen, Scott Wieland and Larry Schechter rounding out the Top 5. This contest paid the Top 50 teams overall.

We will wait for any scoring changes from Elias Sports today before finalizing the prizes tomorrow. Look for these prizes on your Player Accounts by tomorrow once the stats have been finalized overnight.

Neal has been a member of the NFFC since 2013 and this year he stepped up his game with us, playing in the Silver Bullet, the Rotowire Online Championship, the Cutline Championship and the Best Ball Draft Champions Championship. He took 15 $50 Mini Playoff teams, but took only one $200 Post-Season team and rode that one to the $150,000 grand prize.

This is the second straight year that an owner took only one entry in our $200 Post-Season Contest and rode it to the top. Joshua Dombroski did the same thing last year enroute to winning that $125,000 grand prize.

Neal picked both No. 1 seed QBs, so he didn't get any points from them and finished Round 1 in 1,329th place with 159.70 points. But he jumped to 387th place after Round 2 when his team scored 354.40 points. His team then jumped to 115th place after Round 3 with a 337.25 point week. His team then scored 520.80 points in Round 4 to win the title.

Neal had six players with multipliers in the final round with Hurts scoring 188.80 points and Mahomes scoring 126.0 points. Kelce scored 60.30 points at 3x and Smith scored 51 points. Here was his final roster:

Patrick Mahomes (4X) KC 126
Jalen Hurts (4X) PHI 188.8
Isiah Pacheco (2X) KC 27.2
JuJu Smith-Schuster KC 12.3
DeVonta Smith (3X) PHI 51
A.J. Brown (2X) PHI 43.2
Travis Kelce (3X) KC 60.3
Dallas Goedert PHI 12

Congrats Neal and congrats to all of our prize winners in this great contest. Here's the final standings:
