TODAY Is The 2023 NFL Opener: Lions At The Chiefs

The countdown to the start of our 20th anniversary season in the NFL begins today, as does the countdown to the start of the 2023 NFL season. The defending world champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the upstart Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football on September 7th and we can't wait for it to begin.
Yes, this is our 20th season of the National Fantasy Football Championship and it's going to be our biggest and best ever. We have a new partnership with Footballguys.com that will bring a lot of new players to our site and early signups that will likely lead to a lot of sellouts in our national championships. We can't wait to get the 2023 NFL season started, which is why we've once again started this countdown.
This thread will be a countdown to that Thursday Night game, letting you know how close we are getting to the season opener. Remember that in the NFFC, almost all of our leagues allow you to watch that opener and not set your starting lineups until just before the first games on Sunday afternoon. It's a "free look" game, which allows you to still draft on Friday, Saturday and even Sunday morning, Sept. 8th, 9th and 10th.
So let's get counting!!! Nobody has ever worn No. 100 in the NFL, so with May 30th being 100 days away from the Thursday Night NFL Opener, I'm going to lead off with Oakland's Jim Otto, the most famous player to wear double-zero. That's as close to 100 as we'll get, so let's kick it off this way. Plus, look at this great old-school photo of one of the toughest centers in NFL history!!! Enjoy.
I'll do my best to count down every day with a former or current NFL player image and you can only get your favorite player by bribing me with Corona's in Las Vegas.
I'll mix in old-school players with current players, but will try my best to show today's top players. Enjoy and drop me a note on any favorite suggestions if you have them.
