SOLD OUT: 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League: Friday, Sept. 8th

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Aug 24, 2023 9:34 am

For only the second time in NFFC history, we have a chance to host THREE NFFC Kickoff Gridiron Leagues.

We always fill up the NFFC 14-Team Kickoff Gridiron League and in fact the same 14 owners have filled this league most every year. We also fill up the NFFC 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League that takes place after the Thursday Night Game pretty regularly.

So this year we decided to add one more NFFC 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League and that draft will take place on Friday, September 8th at 7 pm PT at Park MGM in Las Vegas. We have ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT for that one. Who wants it?

Here's the current signup list:

NFFC 12-TEAM KICKOFF GRIDIRON LEAGUE
LAS VEGAS, Park MGM
Friday, September 8, 7 pm PT
1. john spurlock
2. Kenny Stratton
3. Craig Bernes
4. Derek Anderson
5. Paul Spiteri
6. Mark Moyer
7. DAVID QUEENER
8. Ted Kasten
9. Jason Steeves
10. Silas Dain
11. Kirby Morgenstern

Now this is a really cool format, so check out the Rules page here:

https://nfc.shgn.com/rules/1724
https://nfc.shgn.com/signup/football?for=0;1724

Here's the format:

The Kickoff Gridiron (12 Team) is an optimal scoring format, where an owner's best scoring lineup will automatically be used every week for 17 weeks. There is no management of your team after Draft Day.

The unique twist to this league is that team owners will use real money to bid for their draft spots in Rounds 1 and 2, with all of that money being divided up and awarded to each of the 17 weekly winners. Bidding will be done for pick No. 1 in Round 1 and whoever wins that bid will pay that amount into a side pot and will immediately make a pick. Then pick 2 of Round 1 goes on the auction block and is bid on with the winning bid total also going into the side pot. That owner also makes his/her pick right away. This goes on through Round 1 with all bids being made in $10 increments. Then a new set of bidding starts in Round 2 using actual dollars and the spot you win in Round 2 is the spot you have for the rest of the Gridiron draft. The first pick being put up in Round 2 is No. 12, which will be the first pick in Round 2 and in Round 3. Open bidding is done for that pick and the amount of the winning player goes into the side pot. That owner then makes his pick and we continue this for all 12 picks of Round 2.

Round 3 starts with the 12th pick since we are using Third Round Reversal and continues in serpentine fashion through Round 26. Let’s say $17,000 was accumulated in the auction for draft picks in Rounds 1 and 2. That would mean that the weekly high point total in each week of the season would earn $1,000 on top of any year-end money that is paid out.

Cost of entry is $1,000 and we'll pay the Top 3 finishers prize money at the end of Week 17, including $5,600 to first place.

Next one in gets the last spot. Obviously we want this final signup to be live in Las Vegas, but if we have to fill it with one Online drafter we could do that. Contact me at [email protected] if you have interest either way. Thanks all and good luck.
