As we enter Week 10 in the NFFC, let's remind everyone that we have another great contest right around the corner. The fifth annual NFFC Thanksgiving Day Bonanza is on Registration right now and it's boasting a record $7,500 grand prize. This one-day, unique NFFC-style championship had a $5,000 grand prize the last four years, but because of increased demand we have increased the top prize by $2,500.
There are three NFL games on Thanksgiving Day, so we've decided to create a one-day contest where owners can pick any player from those six teams and compete in an overall championship with great prizes. We've done this the last four years and last year we sold out this contest with 450 teams. This year prizes are based on 500 teams and we'll max out this contest at 600 teams.
Randy Mechels of Long Prairie, Minnesota won the 2022 NFFC Turkey Day Bonanza and the $5,000 grand prize in a very tight contest. Randy edged Kirby Morgenstern by two-tenths of a point for the grand prize. The year before, William Hare won this contest by one-tenth of a point, so you can see just how tight this one-day contest can be. EVERY POINT matters in this contest.
We will pay the Top 34 teams in the overall contest, so grab one or more teams and make those player combinations work. Are you ready for the challenge?
This 1-day Championship features players in the three Thanksgiving Day games using NFFC scoring to determine the best team. You select the 10 starters to fill up your lineup on your own without a salary cap. Just pick your 10 best starters -- with a minimum of ONE PLAYER PER TEAM -- and watch the points add up like your weight after turkey, apple pie and stuffing!!!
We are limiting owners to a max of 15 teams and we are basing prizes on 500 teams. Cost of entry is $100 and we'll pay the Top 34 finishers. This should be a lot of fun.
