Ross Bampton Wins 2023 NFFC Mini Post-Season & $50,000

Ross Bampton of Bend, Oregon won the 2023 NFFC Mini Post-Season Contest as he edged a record field of 2,796 teams for the $50,000 grand prize. The 76-year-old finished 7.80 points ahead of Steven Olson for the title in another close finish as seven teams were within 34 points of the top spot.

Ross is a veteran of our Football Challenge contests and has been CDM Fantasy Sports and the NFFC for several years. He had three entries in this contest and he won the $50,000 grand prize for finishing first, but he also had another team that finished 10th overall. Great job Ross against a big field of competitors.

Ross's team started out strong as it scored 225.25 points in Round 1 to place 56th overall. He started with Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson as his Quarterbacks, with Christian McCaffrey and Travis Kelce as his San Francisco and Kansas City picks. His team moved up to 7th overall after Round 2 as Team Bampton scored 414.30 points that week. Aaron Jones and Jahmyr Gibbs added to strong performances from his QBs and base players. Then in Round 3, he jumped into the top spot by scoring 474.25 points. He had a 14.40 point lead heading into the Final Round.

Team Bampton scored 351.15 points in Round 4 to win the title by 7.80 points. McCaffrey scored 116 points and Kelce added 73.40 points to lead the way. He had Purdy at 2x and Mahomes at 1x and still won the overall title. As I said in the thread in the $200 Post-Season Contest, it's unusual for our Post-Season Contest winners to win the overall titles without QBs at 3x and 4x, but this was definitely an unusual year for these contests.
