We hosted three NFFC Kickoff Gridiron Leagues once again in 2024 at Park MGM in Las Vegas and we came away with three great champions. Scott Stauffer of Loves Park, Illinois won the 14-Team Kickoff Gridiron League title for the first time, a title he has always wanted to win!! And he did it in convincing fashion. Kenny Stratton of Altoona, Iowa won the 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League title for the second time in the last four years, with a late season comeback. And we added a Friday evening NFFC 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League recently and KJ Duke won that one for the second time in the last five years.

I'll update all three Kickoff Gridiron Leagues in this thread and highlight the draft picks of each champion. Remember, in this format, owners bid for their first round draft spot with real dollars and then bid again for their second round draft spot with real dollars. They stay in the draft spot they bought in the second round for the rest of the draft and all of the dollars accumulated from the bidding is paid out equally to the 17 weekly winners. It's a great, great format and thanks to KJ Duke for running these leagues for us.

In the 14-Team Kickoff Gridiron League, weekly wins were worth $870. In the 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron Leagues, they were worth $625 for the first league and $620 for the Friday evening league. Getting a couple of those weekly wins each year can pay for the league and then some.

Let's start with the 14-Team Kickoff Gridiron League, which is now in its 13th season. Stauffer won SIX weekly weekly prizes and ran away with the $6,500 league prize. He finished 225.65 points ahead of Gerard Sambola for the title, probably one of the biggest margins in this contest's history. Gerard won three weekly titles and the $3,500 second place prize, while Derek Anderson finished third to earn $1,500.

Scott finished with a winning total of 3,008.35 points, with Gerard finishing with 2,787.7 points. Congrats to all of our seasonal and weekly winners as this was once again a fantastic league. We'll do it again at Park MGM on Thursday, Sept. 4th. See you there.

Here's the final standings and weekly winners:

In this format, owners bid for their 1st round picks with real money and all of that money goes into the weekly pot. They also bid for their second round pick with real money and that is the spot they have for the rest of the draft. Scott Stauffer was not overly aggressive in the first round as he acquired Saquon Barkley late and then had the second lowest bid in Round 2 to acquire Deebo Samuel with the 13th pick. He stayed in the 2nd spot for the rest of the draft, but he still dominated the league. Here's how he built that championship team:

Out of the Shadows:
1 2 Barkley, Saquon RB Out of the Shadows
2 27 Samuel, Deebo WR Out of the Shadows
3 41 Love, Jordan QB Out of the Shadows
4 44 Daniels, Jayden QB Out of the Shadows

Kenny Stratton made a nice comeback to win his second NFFC 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League, winning five weekly prizes in the process. His Nasty team was in third place after Week 15, but 230.15 points in Week 16 pushed him into the lead and he held onto that lead in Week 17 to win his second title in four years. Kenny won the $5,600 league prize and another $3,000+ with the five weekly prizes. Well done Kenny.

This draft was held on Thursday Night after the NFL opener between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs. I know Kenny was cheering on his beloved Chiefs at the NFFC Thursday Night Party, but he kept it together long enough to build this winning team!! Great job.

Kenny finished with 2,970.4 points to top Mark Moyer by 27. 85 points. Mark won $2,800 for his runner-up finish, the second straight year he's finished second in this league. KJ Duke finished third to win $1,500. Eight different people won weekly prizes in this 12-Team league, which is pretty amazing. Well done everyone.

We hosted an NFFC 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League on Friday night for the second straight year, but this year we got a surprise when the NFL decided to host an international game that night. The Packers and Eagles played in Brazil while this draft was going on, which made for an interesting night of action. KJ Duke, who helped us create the Kickoff Gridiron League, decided to join this Friday night league for the first team and thankfully he handled all of the weekly prize money and the bidding for draft spots.

It was a good decision for us and it turned out to be a good decision for him as KJ won the league title, $5,600 and another $3,000+ as he won five weekly prizes. He led from start to finish as he jumped into first place in Week 1 and fell to second place just one week during the season. He finished 44.95 points ahead of Ted Kasten, who won $2,800 for his runner-up finish. Ted also won three weekly prizes. Scott Stauffer finished third to win $1,500 and he added one weekly prize. Eight different players won weekly prizes during the season. Great job everyone and let's do this one again in 2024.

KJ Duke didn't spend much to get his first round pick, but was the third highest bidder in the second round to get the third pick in that round and in the third round. But it was his first round pick -- Saquon Barkley -- who led the way. He followed with Marvin Harrison Jr. and then Nico Collins as he won his second 12-Team Kickoff Gridiron League title in the last five years. Oh, and the QB combo of Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels didn't hurt, either!!! Here were his draft results:
