Scoring question regarding the "Wildcat" formation.
When teams run the "wildcat" and the player taking the snap (Ronnie Brown for instance) gets tackled for a loss, is it still recorded as a sack and points for the defense?

That is a good question.
I honestly don't know, but it SHOULD be a sack. It doesn't matter who is receiving the snap, they are the QB on that play, and a sack is a sack.

Only if Brown attempts a pass.
Designed running plays even by a qb are recorded as tackles, not sacks.

Another question. If Brown lines up at QB in the wildcat and throws a pass that is batted up in the air and he catches it himself does he get 1 PPR or .5 PPR for the catch? Basically I'm asking, is he considered a RB or a QB on this play?

Sometimes RB's lineup at WR but they are still considered RB's in the scoring.

This is just another reason I hate the wildcat!

With regards to scoring for the defense he is a qb. If he tucks the ball and runs it's a tackle for a loss, if he attempts to pass and gets tackled it's a sack.
