Okay, the draft order has been set for the NFFC $150 Slow Draft League #5 and we hope to get this started by 1 pm EST today. Here's the draft order:

All 14 owners in this league set their KDS preferences and took a lot of time to put thought into their KDS settings. It's great to see the trends that are emerging with KDS this year and I'll start a separate thread to talk about that shortly, but it is interesting. For this league, here are the 14 KDS choices and the quick breakdown of data:

** The average preference received was 4.07, which means on average all 14 owners got their fourth preference.

** Still, SIX owners got their first preference and two owners got their second preference, so 8 of 14 owners got a Top 2 preference. After that, however, the preferences received weren't as great: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th.

** It's interesting to note that three owners had the first pick as their top preference and three owners had the 14th pick as their top preference. Two other owners also had No. 7 as their first preference and three owners also had No. 6 as their first preference. So you can see as many people want the middle of the draft order as the top or the bottom, but it's a mixed bag all around. VERY INTERESTING.

This is my first year using KDS so I can't really speak to how this year compares to previous years. Speaking for myself, I have never seen a year where the 1st round talent is spread so evenly. In the past there has always been a clear cut top 2-3 guys. Going back a few years LT was THE number one pick, hands down. Then Peterson came along and there was some competition for that spot. Then we had guys like MJD, Rice and Forte muddle up the top of the round a little more. Now we are seeing a QB or two go in the 1st. Sometimes in the early 1st.

There are always going to be people that fall in love with THAT guy and want him in the top 3 or want the back to back picks at the end of the 1st, but with the emergence of so many fantasy stars in recent years a lot of people are finding the value in the middle of the 1st.. With guys like Forte, SJax, and Mendenhall generally being bumped to the second round, having that early to mid second rounder is allowing owners to get a very formidable 1-2 punch. I could list my top 6 draft choices and for the most part if someone's else list was in the complete opposite order of mine it would be hard to argue with them.

And I didn't even get into the top WRs.
