It looks like we will top out at 720 teams for the NFFC Online Championship League, which is a FANTASTIC number for everyone. We've gone past our goal of 600 teams this year -- the second year we've blown out our estimated number -- and the total number of teams still gives everyone a realistic shot at the $50,000 grand prize.

Now we need your help in distributing the additional prize money. If we finish at 720 teams, we will give 10 more leagues $2,100 in league prizes and will still have $15,000 left over for the overall prize pool. We could distribute that second through 10th place overall and even extend the overall prizes to 12 or 15 teams. That's possible.

Or we could add the prize money to the 60 leagues and make sure MORE PEOPLE receive this distribution. I'm leaning towards the bulked up league prizes, but let's hear from you before we set this in stone. As a participant in this contest, do you want the additional prize money to go towards the overall prize pool or the league pool?

And within the league pool, we could:

a) increase 1st to $1,600 and second to $750

b) increase 1st to $1,500, second to $750 and add a third place for $100

c) keep first and second at $1,400 and $700 and add a third place for $250

It's $250 per league we could spread around. How would you do it?

I'm looking for feedback and will make the final decision soon. Thanks all and we're giving this back to you, so you let us know what you think is the best way to do it.

My take is up the league prizes to 1600/750. As much as I am a proponent of paying out three spots, I also feel that third spot should get your money back at a min. Getting less than your investment still is a loss imo so might as well juice up the rewards for the top two spots.

I vote 1600/750. No need for 3rd place in a 12-team league.

I'd vote for a combination of league prize increases and Overall prize increases.

Increase leasgue first to $1500 and 2nd to $750

With the additional $6000 increase overall prizes:

2nd place from $8000 to $10,000
3rd place from $4000 to $5000
4th place from $2500 to $4000
5th place from $2000 to $3000
6th place from $1500 to $2000

I too vote for the 1600/750 option. No need for 3rd, and no need to give more to the overall prizes.

The difference between 50 and 55 thousand is minor, and let's face it....the playoffs are a lottery.

6th place from $1500 to $2000 Okay, we're getting towards the consensus about no third place league prize. Then it comes down to the amount we spend via 1st and 2nd league prize. I do like this idea from Rich. Under this scenario, 120 owners get additional league prizes thanks to the 120 additional teams and we still increase five overall prizes. $10,000 for second overall has a nice ring to it. Increasing prizes for 125 players is really thinking outside the box. Nice job Rich.

Keep the comments coming, but I'm loving the league prizes now. This $350 league is really providing good value for everyone and not going beyond 720 teams gives everyone a legitimate shot at winning. We'll have about 120 teams in the Championship Round and all of them will have already doubled their investment. NICE.

I have a different viewpoint about this for a contest this size versus a contest with a larger entry fee. Here, I think the extra prize money should all go into the overall contest.

I don't think many of us joined this specific contest for the league prizes, but more for the "lottery" prize at a reasonable cost.

Seriously, what's an extra couple hundred for first or fifty bucks for second. Now adding a few grand for a top five finish in the overall, now that gets exciting.
