The Elusive Triple Crown-is this the year?

We see rankings of the best Fantasy Football Gamers, we see those walking away with the big cash from events like the NFFC and WCOFF and the argument often rages over how to determine the true experts. I have always thought the ultimate accomplishment (not talking about cash here) is in taking the Triple Crown. That is winning your league in the main event, Draftchampions/Masters, and Auction in the same year.

Many of you might say so what, it's only a league win in each, can't be that hard. Well folks I suggested this creation in the WCOFF near it's beginning, even saw Lenny donate an extra amount of cash for the gamer who accomplished the trifecta. It was funny since even then the organizers seemed a bit leery of dipping into their pockets because on the surface it doesn't sound like a difficult feat. Guess what, it still has never been done! :rolleyes:

I feel the person that accomplishes this is truly worthy of expert status as you would need to win a league from likely different slots in three completely different style events. No catching lightning in a bottle here...so who feels they will be the first?

I only know of a couple people that have even won two of three in either event since the inception. Any thoughts...

Create something for this year.
Since Lenny was gonna pay for a Triple Crown in the beginning, do you think you can back pay Kyle and I any money for our first year in the NFFC?

Had a lot of fun ln Veags this year.

Past - Congratulations to Derek and Kyle for accomplish this rare and amazing feat in year one of the NFFC - Lumpy's Losers was a dominant force that year - and I am sure Derek that Scott did not know that you guys had done it.

Present - I will be one of the several to try and accomplish it this year. The BIG hurdles is in the rear view mirror - IMHO all three of my drafts have the potential to win the respective leagues.........now we have to see some games

Lets throw in the ultimate and it would be 4.
I did win the ultimate , main event , but no auction , and 4th in the draft masters.
Now that would be a feat.

My apologies Derek for the oversight and yes you are what I believe is the only one to have accomplished the Trifecta! The Captain can attest to the fact that the WCOFF has yet to see it occur which makes you the only one to date in the two majors. Bill Ezell and myself each made a run at it a few years back in the WCOFF. I believe he may have had the DM as the open slot and for me it was the auction.

On a different note, I think anyone that has won a main event league every year would also fall into a rare and impressive category. Not sure how many in the NFFC are currently in that group and recall at least one that has done it every year of the WCOFF. Again, Hook may be able to give the kudos to that person as his memory appears to be better...

As for 4 Eddie, that would truly be impressive and I for one will make a run for the Quad next year, after hopefully joining Derek and Kyle in the exclusive Trifecta club this year....fingers xxx'd.

I actually talked with Greg this year about creating prizes for winning multiple events in the same year. Figure it might increase sign ups in the other formats besides the main event. Just wanted to get some comments on the board about it. Greg might not remember. We had a few beers by then.

I suggested
Win Two, Free Auction or DraftChampions Entry
Win Three, Free Main Event Entry
Win Four, Free Ultimate Entry

Only one team has repeated as main event champions in the NFFC to date.

The way I see it, the only oversight for Lumpy's Losers so far is that Top 100 list.

LUMPY , this is a great idea, to win 2 events in one year is not going to happen often, and to get a free league would be great, it would get more guys in more events, because you cant win if you dont play. [more than one event].
