Here is a very early look at how I see the RBs for 2008. Just trying to get a discussion going in anticipation of TK's post on RBs.

Feel free to comment.

1) Steven Jackson
2) Adrian Peterson
3) LaDanian Tomlinson
4) Joseph Addai
5) Marion Barber
6) Maurice Jones Drew
7) Brian Westbrook
8) Frank Gore
9) Ryan Grant
10)Willis McGahee
11)Willie Parker
12)Larry Johnson

My tiers as of now, probably fall like this:

1-3

4-7

8-12

I really like 13-24 pool of RBs as Tom has eluded to.

Any obvious errors in your opinion? Omissions?

Feel free to chew away...

I assume that since Marion Barber was 7th in the league in scoring at RB last year as a reserve that his numbers are bound to decline as the starter.

My questions on the list would have to start with Jackson number 1 - a bold pick but I guess it's possible. Why is Westbrook so low? And I believe that Grant's situation go significantly worst with Favre's retirement. There will probably be safer picks in the 2nd round.

Not that it means anything at all but I just started my cheatsheet for the April DC and I had Barber 6th.

I guess Jackson first will spark a debate...but I'd take Addai over Jackson every day, and even Addai may not be my first pick.

Jackson and Addai total yards per game were roughly the same.

Jackson dropped in rec, is on a fairly weak team, and only managed 6 TD last year vs. Addai 15 and on a tough team to defend.

Addai only had 10 combined rushing attempts during the last two games of the season, and missed a game vs. TB. (and still scored at least one TD in 10 games.)

For everyone who thinks Adrian Peterson is going to be the next best thing in fantasy football, please see LARRY JOHNSON as a reference.

No QB in Minny. Chester still there. AP is going to go way too high this coming year. I agree he's going to have a few monster games, but don't count on him for a full season of stats.

I know I'm EXTREMELY in the minority on this issue, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. You guys can praise me or ridicule me when it all unfolds.

Wayne Wayne, I'm assuming your Barber comments are directed at Sneak? As I think we're on a similar page with Barber at Nos. 5&6 on our sheets respectively?

As for Westbrook, this is where I have him, pre-draft. I'm ready to accept Westy as finally letting a crappy team and major injury risks to drag his massive skills down. Plus, I have a hunch that McNabb is a draft day trade. If that is the case, then Westbrook is likely to fall even farther.
