I got my check today!
Greg,
Thanks for getting the $5,000 out so quick. I had a question though - is it possible to buy into next year's leagues and deduct that amount from the check? I was hoping to reduce my tax liability.
Thanks,
Wayne

Wayne, I will bet against that as they would have to show the money differently on their books.

Thanks,
Wayne Unfortunately, we're a bit more strict than other contests on this as our accounting department feels it needs to show all winnings to the IRS as they happened. Thus we pay out all winnings immediately and then have you sign up separately for the next season. Trust me, I'd love to do what you're asking, but we just can't. Enjoy the winnings, make sure you deduct all your expenses that you had in getting that $5,000 and then set aside $1,300 for next year's signup!

By the way, a few folks have called me the last few days to say they didn't get their NFFC check yet. With so many league winners and with the W-9s coming in late, we sent the first batch of checks out a few days later than expected. They went out last Monday and Tuesday, so look for them in the mail soon. But they did go out as our goal was to get you the first set of winnings before Christmas. Merry Christmas and congrats to all the league winners.

Greg,
No problem at all - I just thought I would give it a shot and I understand completely.
I'm definitely in for next year. Even if I had finished last, I still had $1250 worth of fun!
